  There are some cases where covers of video game music get flagged. I would do a test upload to YouTube and check. If it's fine, I would still give the performer credit. If you'd prefer to use the original track, a large majority of video game music is safe to use. Stuff with vocals is more likely to get flagged, as is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night and certain Dance Dance Revolution tracks (for DDR, check iTunes, as well as whether it is a licensed artist). Avoid official re-arrangements of Final Fantasy music. I've also seen a small handful of Nintendo tracks in the system, I'd do a test upload for those too. Also do test uploads and give credit for music from indie games. And after all that... @happygaming said in Community Showcase Music / Soundtrack question: maybe shoot Jones a message with specifics to check it beforehand if you're really worried.

  @damianicus Thanks for the response, Damiani. I also want to reiterate that I think the conversation that followed regarding black representation in video games was absolutely worthwhile. I think those instances you bring up of Nintendo learning and growing in response to outside input are also representative of a broader cultural/generational shift, and are why I'm optimistic about the future of representation in games and media in/from Japan. Also, to be clear, I wasn't really trying to blame/shame anyone in particular. I know everyone involved was well-intentioned. Rather, I just wanted to shed light on why I feel some pervasive viewpoints that were represented are problematic. It just happened to be sparked by that question.

  @demonpirate Haha thank you, what funny timing, guess I'm not the only one listening to random old podcasts while working from home. I agree with Kyle, the hand prints are a pretty gross concept, will be curious to see if Huber ends up posting something on twitter or responding.

  The latest episode (about TurboGrafx 16 Mini) is out, and it's pretty great. There's a bunch of games that looks really cool, and Blood does a great job to showcase his experience. Too bad the pandemic is messing with the distribution of this console. Youtube Video

  Huber's conversation with Damiani about family, and recalling memories of going to baseball games with his brother, definitely delivers upon his original premise of bonds and just sitting down with an Ally and playing a game. Whenever I gather the crew for some in person PS4 action, our conversation ebbs and flows in all kinds of directions. Prison of Love seems to be more about capturing that feeling of just hanging out with a bud and catching up. I think it feels different to what people expect by design.

  I have two thoughts on this: I think the Allies bring whatever game they feel compelled to argue on behalf of that quarter, regardless of the games' stature as a "great" They are still ticking off the obvious "greats" before they get into the minutiae of arguing the more debatable "greats" such as Hollow Knight. Sure, its the gold standard for Metroidvania's but they already have SotN, Super Metroid, and Metroid Prime. Kinda a hard sell to add another at this point without some time to pass and more "obvious greats" elected.
