I got the complete works of H.P. Lovecraft for Christmas, so whenever i have time I'll read a couple stories from that. Just read Call of Cthulu.
How much Lovecraft have you read in the past? He is by far my favorite author. I have read through his work so many times.
-
@Tsosie I hadn't read any before, but I knew enough to recognise when horror was alluding to Lovecraft. I wanted to read what so much classic horror is derived from

I want to get into the R. A. Salvatore books this summer. I've been told by all of my DnD friends that they are a must read.

@Pituitor
My signature is from Call of Cthulhu. If you really get into it, I suggest checking out "The H.P. Lovecraft Literary Podcast" at hppodcast.com. They go from the beginning of his work to the end and have a discussion about almost every single one of his works. You learn what the next story is going to be for the following week at the end of an episode, so you can read it ahead of time. They have finished their Lovecraft discussion but you can still get all of the episode from your favorite podcast provider.I am jealous, he is one of those authors that I wish I could read all over again like it was my first time. May the Elder Sign keep you safe at night.

@WiedThin They are very good. It is pretty much fluff fantasy, but they are all exciting rides. They are especially good if you are into DnD because they exist within the same world.
-
Trying to get through Blood of Elves, the first book in the witcher series, and reading through Y the last man for like the 100th time. :)

My sister read those books and loved them! I think it will be a great summer read for you :dancer_tone1:

Awesome! : ) I'll probably start with the dark elf trilogy

I recently started on Robin Hobb's Farseer Trilogy after catching up on The Dresden Files. I like it so far.
-
I just started a historical monograph on the Italian Renaissance. It was mistakenly sent to me instead of a book I needed on the Fourth Crusade, but I kept it because it looked great!

Nice!! I've had Assassin's Apprentice on my to read list for awhile now and I might just bump it up a little more after I'm done with a few new releases in book series I'm following.
-
@UltimateBrent I totally agree. I loved those first two books to death.
-
@Hesperus Yes! The Stormlight Archive books are fantastic. The Way of Kings was my introduction to Sanderson. Luckily he is very prolific compared to some other Fantasy authors.
-
@Brad-Grenz Check out his Mistborn books too. They're so good.
-
The Martian. It's such an easy and fast to read book. I read half of it last time I picked it up, and next time I pick it up I'll probably finish off the other half. Entertaining, doesn't ask too much of the reader, not super long. Nice light reading.
-
It's this crazy steampunk type serial novel by the guy that wrote Worm, which is an incredible superhero book that I highly encourage people read.
But Twig is just so not my style of book, and I love it anyways. Super dystopian, super good.
-
A little different from everyone above, I've been reading AMAZING Avatar: the Last Airbender AU fanfiction.
-
Trying to read one of the Witcher books, although finding time to read it has been infrequent.
-
@ALLCAPS Another easy to read and fun novel is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline, if you didn't hear about it before.
It's pretty cool to get into if you play videogames, since he has a lot of references in, and it's also rife with 80s pop culture.

Audio books bro. They're a life saver for people with little time to spare.
