Kill Your Babies! Death on the DS!
-
We're back into the regular swing of a normal Kill Your Babies! As most of the lists, this is one created by you the community! Time to strike and kill all that are unworthy of the Dual Screens until the final game remains! Here are the rules for the fastest and highest quality play possible as a refresher to a normal game:
Rule #1: When you make a kill, when you give your reason why you are killing. Just taking it out isn't all that inspiring. Whether you truly dislike it, you strike out of revenge, you feel that there are other important titles that should have made it, or you have legitimate critiques, explaining your kill is necessary to validate its death.
Rule #2: Please keep the updated list for the benefit of other players. Cross through your kill to identify what's been chosen.
Rule #3: You may kill another game after only three other people have made a kill OR if 12 hours have passed. This should be plenty of time for others to get involved.
Rule #4: If you fail to give a reason, make a 2nd kill without allowing the time to pass/proper amount of players a turn, or if there is an unforeseen issue up for potential review, your kill may not be recognized. This rule is subjective to the situation and hopefully will not be implemented.
Rule #5: Per normal, we will have a straw poll for the final two. Please vote for the one you want to win, not lose.
Let me know if you have any questions. Your kills are your own, so please, be vicious, be remorseless, and most importantly: HAVE FUN!!!

Magical StarsignI'll get this one out of the way because its the only game on the list I don't like at all. It is also the only one I haven't played, but I have played enough Pokémon to know I don't enjoy the series in general.

@Sheria, you are breaking my heart, Pokemon Platinum is legit!

Magical StarsignI like Kingdom Hearts, but I thought this game was pretty bad. The battles got so repetitive over time, and while I thought the story started out strong, it was paced so slowly that I lost interest really quickly. It's not the worst game, but definitely not as good as most of the other games on this list.
-
@naltmank Ah! You took out the one I was rooting for. Oh well. Incidently, I actually thoroughly like this game, but you're right, it's not the worst. That distinction belongs to Re:Coded or Chain of Memories (Haven't played 3D, so I can't speak to that).

Magical StarsignI didn't play most of these, and I know little about some, but I didn't like TWEWY (prepares for crucifixion).
I didn't finish the game, and I didn't found it to be bad, but I just didn't really like it.

Magical StarsignSo many great games here, I'm just eliminating my least favourite. I've tried to get into a number of the life-sim games, Rune Factory included, but I always seem to burn out before I get too far. My next kill is probably easy to guess.

Magical StarsignThis is exclusive to the western release, I simply dislike most of the music choices and would have prefered the original japanese music, it pretty much ruins the game for me. I'm glad they stopped this kind of localization, imagine the Project Diva games with only english songs, no thanks.

@bard91 TWEWY was one of the many reasons I bought myself a DS, but I do understand why someone might not like it.

Magical StarsignI never thought I would betray my favorite plumber, but I have a personal agenda here. I love Mario, and NSMB is a good game. I was excited to see them take a stab at 2D again. But then we got the Wii entry, then NSMB 2, then the Wii U entry, and even 3D Land and 3D World. All are "good" games, but the series has begun to stagnate. They are comfortable making games where you have a world map, power ups, a timer, and a goal flag. I remember the sense of magic and innovation by games like 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy, and I want to kill this so that Mario will take a hint and step out of his comfort zone and into exciting new territory.

Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Magical StarsignThere are/were 2 games left on this list I don't own nor have I ever played, one of them is Advance Wars 3, I didn't like the 1st Advance Wars that much and never played 2&3, I also think AW: Dark Conflict is better.
-
@jipostus TWEWY was actualy the one of the first games I wanted to play the most, and I was really excited, but it just didn't end up being my thing.

Magical StarsignI own Trace Memory myself, a pretty good game, but in my opinion there are better games within its genre, so it has to go.
-
@Musou-Tensei Noooo! How could you?! I agree that Days of Ruin is a strong title, but Dual Strike is so much better! Such a great evolution on the franchise. I'm so sad...
-

Radiant Historia
Professor Layton and the Last Specter
Ghost Trick
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Sky

Solatorobo: Red the Hunter
Hotel Dusk: Room 215
Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey
Magical StarsignIt kills me a bit to do this, because I really really love the first few Layton games, but this was the one where I started feeling a bit of franchise fatigue. I just didn't think it was nearly as good or refreshing as the games that came before it.

Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Sky

Magical StarsignAs much as I enjoyed Dragon Quest IX, its changes to the formula and focus on multiplayer make it one of my least favourites in the series.
