NX (NOW NINTENDO SWITCH) REVEALED TODAY
-
Nobody hating on it here that I see.
We don't know enough about it to hate it yet.
-
@TokyoSlim I think he's referring to me joking about the controllers.
-
@Art that seems like a legitimate concern though, as well as my concern about losing/breaking something that snaps into the side of a portable device I'm gonna shove in my pocket or bag.
-
At least it's not called sWiitch. Kinda pumped, looks not bad!
-
Powered by Tegra I assume?
-
-
The real question now is, what happens to the 3DS?

They won't admit anything yet, the N3DS hasn't been out very long, games are still releasing stateside for it over the next year.
I imagine they'll wait till the switch launches and see how sales measure up before anything happens.

@Art
I think it might depend on if this has any kind of backwards compatibility. I know it wont be able to play Wii U disc, but the cartridge looked just a little bigger then a 3DS cart
-
Red Dead Redemption 2 screenshot.
-
So no straight up backwards compatibility is a bummer, but it seems pretty cool to me, the fact that they showed a few Wii U games, makes me hopeful that they'll be porting a lot of the Wii U game

Could be the case, or maybe it's a digital purchase carry-over thing.
-
@bard91
Well again we dont know anything. For all we know all WiiU games bought thru the eShop will be compatible on Switch
-
CD's are last gen
-
They are not ports, you can see in the video 2 player in one kart ala double dash. It's a new Mario Kart game. Splatoon is also apparently Splatoon 2. Obviously Mario is new.
-
Zelda appears to be buckling hard in mobile mode. Looks like it's running at 10-20 FPS.
-
@Syran The human eye can't see past 15 fps anyway. Movie makers in the 1920s' knew this.
Anything beyond that is extravagance.
-
I'm happy to take a graphics and stability hit when playing on the go providing it isn't too detrimental to the gameplay.
Any word on if the screen is a touchscreen? Would be weird if it wasn't.
-
@thenerdtheword I'm pretty sure i saw that it was, but I think it was on The Verge or something, so may not be official.
-
It's everything I wanted! The name is stupid, but it wouldn't be a real Nintendo console without a stupid name! We back!
