Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4/XBO/PC)

@a7x458 Same. Who needs real vacations when we have Red Dead.
-
If this is true, then holy shit it's definitely the coolest thing i've heard about this game yet.
There's also a bunch of other cool stuff about the game tweeted by that account.
-
@bam541 I've heard it from multiple sources so I'm pretty sure it's true. I think those who have played it have spoken similarly as well.
-
@bam541 i personaly don't like mini maps so i will turn it off if this is true.

Looks quite good from the trailers, definitely picking it up. I don't really see anything special though to support the degree of hype, Rockstar has held to its same formula for close to two decades now, all I see I improved graphics here.

Can't wait, and I'm excited my weekends start on Thursday, now to wait for the preloading.
-
The game will, indeed, arrive on two discs. Haven't seen this in ages.

I'm having a genuinely hard time deciding whether to buy digital or physical. On the one hand, I want to have a steelbox case of RDR2 to display on my collection but two discs just seems to inconvenient these days. I have two young daughters so having my games on digital makes it much more convenient when they want to swap my games out for their Blu Rays of Moana or Frozen...
-
@sentinel-beach
Makes me wonder if PS5/X4 will use 4K bluray as their main method since those are about 250gb disc if I recall correctly

Is it really that big a pain to switch discs?
-
I just got it digitally, although I can understand a bit with having to swap disc with children around, plus digital is one less thing to potentially lose sight of
-
Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the two discs were an install disc and a play disc, which honestly doesn't seem that bad.
So long as I don't have to switch the discs out in the middle of playing, I'm fine with it.
-
@capnbobamous
From what I understand that is the case
Also not really news, but handled some 2-3 thousand copies of RDR2 at my work station today (so far) looks to be about the same for everyone else from what I can see.

Even if I have to switch discs once, it isn't that bad, granted I grew up with multi disc rpgs, it's usually a one time and you're done

@acardattack
I'm just saying after babysitting a family friends kid for a week, Digital is easier (especially if the kids are as ADD as the one I was watching) Play Sonic for 10 minutes before wanting to Switch to Mario, then to Smash Bros, then back to Sonic, ect.

RDR2 has a companion app that lets you display the hud elements on your phone/tablet instead of the screen, so you can play totally hudless but still have access to that information on the app.
MAN I wish more games would do that.
