Retro Game Recommendations on Steam

  • I just beat Psychonauts (seriously, like 10 minutes ago), and I'm thinking about what to play next. I've been trying to catch up on older games recently, but I'm not sure where to start. What are your retro game recommendations (on Steam)?

  • Why on Steam?

Good Old Games (gog.com) is the place to go if you're into playing classic games. Not only are they DRM free, but you tend to get bonuses with your purchase and the versions are optimzed to run better on more OS.
GoG is also running a sale right now.

As for what games to recommend it depends on what you like, but I can suggest a couple of my favorites:
    Dungeon Keeper 2
    Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
    MDK 2
Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena
    Return to Castle Wolfenstein
    Septerra Core
    Ys: Oath in Felghana
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
    Hitman: Blood Money
    Fallout Tactics
    Deus Ex

  • @suplextrain I'm with you on this one. GOG is the place to go. Their new Galaxy client thing is okay (still in beta) but pretty good overall.

    I'd recommend:
    TIE Fighter
    Master of Orion 2
    Alpha Centauri
    Beyond Good and Evil
Star Control 2 (you can get the free open source version called Ur-Quan Masters)
    Fallout 2

  • GRIM FANDANGO

If I could increase the font size, I would. XD
