Selective Creation: Games on the Go for Game Boys
-
I'm doing something a little bit different and I'm not sure if you'll like it:
I'm going to combine systems.
Because I'm realizing that Nintendo has WAY more hardware than I thought, I'm combining OG Game Boy, Color, and Advance. This means I'm upping the cap to 30 games total. What's also different is I'm not giving constraints per; if more Advance games get nominated, this will be an Advance only list. If more Game Boy/Color games get nominated, then so be it.
SO: As always - Quick rule refresher for potential new players:
Here's the breakdown: You've been given the power to green-light 30 games, but here's the catch: these 30 games will be the ONLY games to ever exist for the Game Boy/Color/Advance. What should be the games that make the cut? By giving 30 select titles, you are essentially playing an inverse of Kill Your Babies.
You can only give one title until three people have added after you OR 12 hours have passed since the last addition, so think really hard about which game should be on the list. It could be your favorite game, or if your favorite is already present, then you can add another you hold dear. Or if you can't stand Game Boy as a whole, get to trolling if that makes you happy.
To try to have a little diversity, I'm instituting a TWO per franchise cap. So if two entries of a series get put on the list, a third CAN NOT be added.
Side note: Games like Pokemon which are grouped per generation count as one; Meaning Red/Blue/Yellow (if anyone wishes to nominate it/them) will be just one entry on the list. I'm also counting compilations like Final Fantasy's I & II.
Once you have given a game, please keep a running list going for the benefit of the next person that would like to play. Because I'm pitching the game, I will refrain from adding to the list unless absolutely necessary because it would be unfair for me to skew the list in my favor.
And so Allies, what are the 30 games that should be played, no matter what, for any/either Game Boy device?
Have fun!

Well, obviously there can't not be Pokemon Red and Blue.

Tetris
Pokemon R/B.Y
Kirby's Nightmare in DreamlandThere are so many great games for these systems, that it was hard choosing which one I wanted to put on first. I decided to go for one that I feel most people have forgotten about. There's so much charm in the Kirby games, and this was no different. Plus the spritework and the music are both great.

@naltmank If I've never played a Kirby game before, would this be a good one to start with?

@Doctor-Professor my personal favorite classic-style kirby game is Kirby and the Crystal Shards for the N64, but Nightmare in Dreamland is a close second! Absolutely worth giving it a go if you're interested in the franchise.

@Doctor-Professor FWIW, my favorite Kirby game is Kirby's Adventure for NES. That is a great game and not a short one either. I think that game really defines Kirby for me. Not sure how different (better/worse) Nightmare in Dreamland is.

@Musou-Tensei Ah, yeah you're right. That game sounds right up my alley. I didn't know it was a remake. I've tried to beat them in order of release. I've never beaten Kirby 2 for Gameboy, so... there's a ton of Kirby games I haven't played haha!
