Despite Rayman Origins already being on the list, I think that this game might also deserve a spot.
Play one of the music levels or have a blast with 3-5 Players on the WiiU Version and you'll understand.

A brilliant platformer that manages to make the basics of the genre brilliantly good fun with quick fire levels, an amazing soundtrack, a ridiculous amount of unlockables, and of course, challenge!

My favorite Kirby game. It's so jolly. Plus both Mario spots were already taken so I couldn't throw Mario 64 on the list.

I believe this qualifies, so for sure I'm adding it

  • @terminallybill I don't know if Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando is particularly the best "platformer", but it always warms my heart to see a little bit of Ratchet & Clank appreciation.

I think this list turned out to be pretty good.
Still need to play Ape Escape, Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon and Ori and the blind forest.

  • Oh, come on! Two 2D Raymans??? When The Great Escape ranks up with the very best 3D platformers??? Ack!

BTW, doesn't the person who voted for Ape Escape need to give a reason for it?

  • @Oscillator No that rule only counts for the killing part.

  • We now have our full 25! I gotta say, I REALLY like this list. It reminds me how many platformers I really love.

Thank you to everyone for your adds! This was a fun one to see come together!

(Also, @Sentinel-Beach, the first Spyro game was the first game I ever owned and while the sequels have better systems, I enjoy the first the best. Super cool to see Spyro to get love.)

  • So many great games on this list! It's gonna be hard to make some kills.
