Easy Update - Official Discussion Thread

@SabotageTheTruth was it really acting... or did Ian play Bosman like a fiddle.
Probably acting
Huber did look genuinely upset. Maybe the joke was on him.
Good job @IanHinck this and last week eps have been entertaining. Keep it up.
Do a FinalHinck bit. Just one. Would be perfect lol.
Or "just have someone in your car for an hour."
-
Lasers for Huber the perfect torture chamber. I just wonder if Ian could come up with something as fitting for everyone else if he decides to.
-
What's the name of the instrument Ian was playing in the Don's Design Challenge video? I know he's mentioned it before, I just don't want to spend hours looking for it and my Google search of "weird electronic instrument" didn't turn up anything.
-
@James-Brincefield Do you have a link to the particular moment
-
Now we just need a torture chamber for Ben, complete with giant spiders. Ian provides me so much damn joy.
-
Honestly, Ian just keeps impressing me with how creative and unique these Easy Updates can be. Having no format helmed by a creative genius just leads to some really extraordinary things. Makes me wish I knew how to animate because I feel like Reindeer Academy needs to fully exist now.
-
What more can I say besides the fact I absolutely love all the work Ian does and it inspires me in more ways than I can count.
-
@sabotagethetruth he's a tremendous artist
-
For a while Easy Update was very hit or miss for me, but now it's reliably a really fun video to watch, with the bonus that I never really know what I'm going to get. It might be a 10 minute short film, it might be a 2 hour discussion on the possible plot of an Anime about reindeer, it might be a skit where Bosman acts like he's upset and it gets too real for me and I get actually upset.
Keep doing whatever it is you're doing Ian.

Ian, you started my Sunday morning with a smile with this one. Loved the rhytm of both speech and footage and just the chill vibes of everything. Also that "fingers down my spine" thing made me laugh out loud. :) A perfect thing to always bring back.

Absolutely agree, "Fingers down my spine" always gets me, too. :D

Watching Jones and Bosman play each other was a whole lot of fun.
I especially loved the "always has to complain about bad movies" flaw and how that changed the narrative.
-
Yep, some really fun lines in there from Kyle and Brandon.
Ian just did again what he tends to do in Fiasconauts: he captures the whole story and its narrative the more we approach the end and bends the whole thing to go like he wants it to go. The last half an hour or twenty minutes with the witch were pretty boring, to be honest.
-
@sentinel-beach I mean... he was playing the role of a DM, the story is meant to go in the direction he planned.
-
@sabotagethetruth Sure. You're right. I was just seeing too much reflections of Fiasconauts, I guess.

Man, that episode really gets my lazy brain going. I gotta continue my Ukulele lessons.

I love this on so many levels. The amount of all the new tech is staggering. Those new monitors, all the new cameras, the number of lights! (Maybe we'll be finally able to see something up close on the main camera now.) Ian's knowledge of the stuff was really cool to hear, he knows how it all works. Oh man, I'm so excited about the future right now! Changes for the better. Love this.

Every unboxing video should go with that style, Makes it look different to other unboxing videos

Ian and Brandon playing in boxes together is the happiest thing I've ever witnessed.
