Anime! Who's watching what?
-
Dragonball Super. I'm about 70 episodes in. Pretty good, but I wish they would do something more unique. Bring Gohan back as a real fighter. Something different. I'm tired of just Goku and Vegeta just going to new levels all the time.
-
@suplextrain yeah, I've had great experiences with the other animes I've rewatched recently, namely Shaman King and Digimon, the dubs in those I found great (again latin american, I find the american ones unwatchable) and actually exceeded my expectations, and I also remember Ranma being pretty great when I saw a few years ago, although I'm interested in checking it again now to take a look at the voice acting quality
-
@Chris-Snow You can look forward to later episodes, I always watch the official simulcast from Daisuki.net and yesterday was episode 100, twas great.
-
Watching green outlines. Dropped yellow outlines.
-
I went to crunchyroll's anime movie night last night and saw what I assume is part of episode 1 of Children of Ether and the first three episodes of The Ancient Magus Bride. I thoroughly enjoyed both. Especially TAMB since I recently got caught up with the manga. Overall it was just a really cool experience.

A few weeks ago, I bought a Soul Eater shirt at Salvation Army because it was only 75 cents...and then I figured, maybe I should watch the show too...Something about the art style caught my interest, I guess? Only watched to episode 3 so far, but it seems pretty fun. The art style reminds me a tiny bit of Full Metal Alchemist, while the vibe kinda reminds me of D. Gray-Man...maybe?

I'm watching a ton of stuff from this new season and now I'm catching up on the last ferw too.
Tried Akashic Record of Bastard Magic Instructor, it's ok, not as good as Bastard!! I like Celica a lot, wish the series was more about her.
Watched a couple of episodes of My First Girlfriend is a Gal, I was hoping this would be like Galko chan which was actually very charming and funny, it is not, dropped.
Caught a few eps of Isekai Shokoudo, between this, Food Wars and Yakitate japan I think I really like food anime XD
Gave A Centaur's Life a look too, it's a nice middle ground between Monster Musume and Demi-chans. The characters are very likeable but the world seems kinda messed up somehow
and finally, tried AHO GIRL. idk wtf this is but it made me laugh, Plastic nee-san tier

Hey everyone! I'm looking for some anime to binge while waiting for October to come around and was wondering if you guys have some recommendations. I know it goes against what Kyle says but hey, I need the recs.
-
@michemagius what kinda stuff do you like?
-
@Sieghardt Lot's of stuff. I watch a lot of sports and shonen. Occasionally more chill stuff like Natsume Yuujinchou. I'll watch slice of life if it has a fun twist. I really like Rakugo Shinjuu. I'll try anything really, as long as it isn't too dark.
-
@michemagius Soul Eater is a fun binge.
-
@Minamik It is! That was my first Anime.
-
@michemagius Hmm... D-Gray Man?
-
@Minamik Ok, I'll look it up.
Edit: Is D-Gray Man Hallow the right series?
-
@michemagius I think if you liked Soul Eater, you'll probably enjoy D-Gray Man. It has a somewhat similar set up. Buncha weirdos go around hunting demons, sometimes emotional, sometimes light hearted.
-
@michemagius This is where you want to start. D-Gray Man Hallow is the 2nd season. https://www.funimation.com/shows/dgray-man/the-boy-who-hunts-akuma/
-
@Minamik A I see. Thanks for the link.
-
ok so consider the following
RPG Parodies
Rune Soldier
KonoSubaMecha
Full Metal Panic (The first series is a great mix of humour and serious story, second series is pure humour, third is purely serious)
Blue GenderFood anime:
Yakitate Japan
Shokugeki no SomaSuperhero
Tiger & BunnyDrama (these might be a bit too dark depending on your tastes but they're very interesting stories)
Black Lagoon
Mirai NikkiSlice of life
Bunny Drop (very feelsy)
Magical Pokaan
Squid Girl (Ika Musume)Fantasy
Log Horizon
Akame ga KillGive those a look over and let me know if you give any of them a watch :D
-
@Sieghardt I totally forgot to mention my weakness for food anime! Thank's for the recs!
-
@michemagius both of those are fantastic. Shokugeki no Soma season 3 coming out soon on crunchy. Be forewarned, there's a lot of ecchi moments while food tasting and in general, but it's funny and both sexes are treated fairly equally as fan service. Its also about as close to anime iron chef I've ever seen. The good iron chef, not the crappy Canadian/American version.
