    I'm gonna be honest: it was fantastic at the time, but the original in the series really hasn't held up very well. Many of the things the series has become known for (the magic naming conventions, immersive story, memorable characters, etc) didn't appear until later installments, making the original pretty much just a turn-based combat simulator.

    Kinda get the feeling the only reason II of all games was allowed to go this long was because either nobody here played it or they were too focused on killing other specific targets.

    Pretty much both for me, never played it, and feel like spin offs should be removed from the list (other than tactics)

  • So this is really the first Kill you babies thread I've joined because its Final Fantasy, do they all end up like this? Something odd winning because people crossing off games they don't want to win because their favorite game was crossed off, or because its a threat to winning vs their favorite?

  • @ACardAttack You only need to look at the PS4 Kill Your Babies thread to see how these things go. Finalists were Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune and The Order: 1886. There needs to be a Kill Your Babies of forums games so Kill Your Babies can die. Its only somewhat interesting when the Allies do it and is just a massive boring trollfest in the forums.

  • @ACardAttack Yup. Pretty much. The odd ones always win because as you've pointed out, revenge killing is a big thing here. Also outright disdain calls these threads home (See VII's death). No one EVER should go into these threads seeing their favorite win. Pro tip: Never call out your favorites. They will be the next to die. What can I say? The trolling is always constant (though I can never tell if its intentional, or players simply have honest dislike for an entry).

    @Tragosaurus Excellent point. I enjoy seeing what games stand at the end, though the nature, not necessarily the meaning, is repetitive. I took up the mantle of facilitating these threads for two reasons:

    1.) To interact with others in the community

    2.) To understand what games people like and don't like

    I AM sorry you find this boring, so sadly I guess these threads are not for you. You are welcome to add, kill, vote, and post at your leisure, but if its not for you, then there isn't anything I can do to convince you otherwise. Regardless, thanks for your input.

    A couple of observations: I'm surprised at least one spot was not a main number entry and I had a weird feeling Crystal Chronicles would be a finalist a while back. Weird.
