Please consider helping out Marcus Beer (Annoyed Gamer) and his Fam
-
Hi guys,
I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with Marcus Beer, a GT alumni, but his family could use some help.
Marcus suffered a heart attack this week and is now being kept in an artificial coma to help him heal.
His family has started a donation site to help them out with some expenses, meals and whatever you can spare.
I'm not sure if posting this is against any rules,. but If you are looking to help, you can do so here:
https://pages.giveforward.com/medical/page-kts3pq3/
Thanks.

That's... I'm speechless. I gave $5, even though my budget is very limited, but... Hopefully everything turns out well.

@jipostus Thank you
-
This is some really sad news. I really hope it ends well for Marcus. I will take this months donation from EZA and put to this instead, I hope noone minds

Even if it was (which I really doubt), I really doubt any of us would do anything about it.
Wishing the best for Marcus.

@Lotias I did the same
-
@ChaosBahamut Yeah, definitely.
I'm devastated to just find out about this. Marcus, I hope you'll get back on top man. You're in my thoughts and I hope again, you'll get better soon =(

I remember watching and enjoying his videos during the GT days. Heck I even followed him on YT a while after he left when he still made a couple of videos there. Sad to hear he's going through some rough times.
I have to rush off to work now but I'll see what I can do when I get back.
-
Can't donate anything this week, but I will next week

-
Thank goodness. Hope he has a speedy recovery.
-
Yikes, has there been any update?
I really miss him and enjoyed him on GT and his short lived annoyed gamer youtube channel
-
@ACardAttack Shane did an update on Siftd a while back I think. By the sounds of it he's woken up and made a "miraculous recovery" (I put quotes because that's what Shane said). I'm not sure much other than that.
from a medical perspective the only silver lining to having a heart attack at a relatively young age is that you can recover better than if it happens when you're older so I'm hopeful he will make a good recovery and can turn things around with some lifestyle modifications.

He is indeed doing very well.
According to his wife he's blowing the minds of everyone at the hospital and is well ahead of the curve.
-
I'm really happy that things have worked out so well for Marcus! I've followed him on twitter and it warms my heart! I think he is a bit like my dad, stubborn and determined to get well! I just hope he doesn't go too hard to fast
-
I think we can unsticky this now.
Everthing seems to be going well and the donations have made everything easier on the family.
-
@TheHashtag0nist Yeah I agree! I have unstick the topic
-
I haven't seen him in ages. No upload on youtube videos. Haven't been following him on twitter. I hope he get better. Best wishes.

@theunborn That is a little too harsh, even if its an troll account (just one post). Its one thing of being upset with someone, but uttering it like that is one step too far, take a few days chill

@theunborn First of all, That argument he had with Phil was because Phil himself got too attached to his work, and the stress and everything else was way too much for him to handle. Marcus then said that he needs to get his stuff together before things get out of hand and not to expect too much praise even if his game is excellent (although he did say this in a much rougher way, as it's his style). This was too much for Phil, and ended up giving up on industry. And even without that, after watching the documentary about his work (which I highly recommend) I would say that if he would have stayed in the industry, his inability to handle that amount of stress wouldn't have kept him under working condition, and he could have ended up broken and possibly even insane, and perhaps that would have led to a even larger tragedy in a long run, but that is just me speculating.
Of course it's unfortunate, that we won't see FEZ 2 or whatever Phil would have made, you can't entirely blame Marcus Beer for it. And saying something like "Don't care at all if he dies" is totally uncalled for, especially considering that Marcus is in the end of day, a good guy, who is also very passionate about games, and cares about the industry more than most people realize. Nobody deserves that kind of things said about them, not even you. That's why you too need to realize the EZA mantra, Love and Respect.
