Kill Your Babies!: Fatality the Fighting Games!

  • Much to my surprise, this list filled up quick, but will it be just as fast to die? Time to kill off your chosen fighting games!

SO: As always, just in case there are new players, here are the rules:

Rule #1: When you make a kill, give your reason why you are killing. Just taking it out isn't all that inspiring. Whether you truly dislike it, you strike out of revenge, you feel that there are other important titles that should have made it, or you have legitimate critiques, explaining your kill is necessary to validate its death. Yes, even to those of you who kill because they're good (Because that makes sense)

Rule #2: Please keep the updated list for the benefit of other players. Cross through your kill to identify what's been chosen.

Rule #3: You may kill another game after only four other people have made a kill OR if 12 hours have passed from the last overall kill (not necessarily your own). This should be plenty of time for others to get involved.

Rule #4: If you fail to give a reason, make a 2nd kill without allowing the time to pass/proper amount of players a turn, or if there is an unforeseen issue up for potential review, your kill may not be recognized. This rule is subjective to the situation and hopefully will not be implemented.

Rule #5: Per normal, we will have a straw poll for the final two. Please vote for the one you want to win, not lose.

Let me know if you have any questions. Your kills are your own, so be ruthless, uncompromising, and most importantly:

    HAVE FUN!!!

  • Well this is a tough list to approach. About half of these I know straight away and pretty much love or at least like. Then there's some that I'm aware of by name. Then there's half a dozen names that needed to be googled, and that's where the axe hits first, sorry.

I just feel like I've seen these exact same characters so many times before in other projects. Nothing too special.

Yay, I can join this round!
I feel like Soul Caliber took a significant downturn after 2, so if the original is on the list then 5 needs to go

  • @TokyoSlim It's not a great fighting game on it's own, but it's fun to play. And again, the RPG mode it has is interesting concept, which could be developed much further.

wut dis? Never heard uv it... (Seriously though, I didn't like this game too much...)

  • @jipostus You monster!

  • @TokyoSlim Aren't we all in the end, as we're all killing games left and right.

  • @jipostus Yes, but you're extra monster-y because of your wrong opinions on top of all that.

  • @TokyoSlim That's just your opinion. But at least I'm not killing games because I haven't actually heard of them, unlike some, true monsters...

  • @jipostus said in Kill Your Babies!: Fatality the Fighting Games!:

    @TokyoSlim That's just your opinion

Wrong! Synchronized swimming attack, your opinion is invalid!
    Youtube Video

Like where does the third guy go? Watch it again, he's vanishing!

  • @TokyoSlim I'm sorry to say, but that won't change anything. You're free to think whatever you want.

  • @jipostus I know, because I'm right.

BB was a neat distraction when Guilty Gear was in limbo, but now that the king has returned it is just a lame anime fighter.
The story mode for these games give me an aneurysm.

  • Tag Team's gone?! The day's ruined.

Wasn't this what the Allies played on one of the group streams? I base my kill entirely on that, I wasn't too impressed.

Combos that last as long as they do and can KO a character at full health is just plain bad game design. Shorter combos that allow for more interplay between opponents just makes so much more sense to me.

  • @Kaminski

    adjusts tie

Your critique would be valid if the matches were 1 v. 1. They are not. The glorious swing when you're losing a match, X-factor into a combo that devastates your opponent, and then feel the momentum shift into your favor is glorious. Check it out at the next EVO, I guarantee it didn't raise tons of money based on bad game design. ;)

Two Smashes, one has to go. While the Wii U version is really great, I feel like Melee is the pinnacle of the series. I can't count the number of long nights I had staying up playing that gem. Maybe I'm too old to have that experience with the newer game but that's my reason and I'm sticking to it.

Oh, also Melee has Roy and Marth. I had no damn clue what Fire Emblem was until Melee came out so... thanks Melee.

A seven year old beat me so badly at Smash Bros Melee that I've never recovered. It was like 46-0. He was button mashing. I could have physically overpowered him and beaten him up in any conceivable real life scenario, and yet the universe chooses to find balance by letting him bully me at video games? I've played video games longer than he's been alive.
