I was waiting to come in near the end because I knew that several of the games I enjoy wouldn't make it so to recap the list is down to 3:
Super Mario Galaxy
Soul Calibur
Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of LibertyMake that two because between the three, Soul Calibur doesn't quite have the quality of of SMG or MGS 2. SO: Who wants to be the one kill the last?

uh what? It expanded on everything and actually had a decent lengthy campaign with better writing, a better ending and an awesome super long coop campaign.

More isn't inherently better. I thought the first game was the perfect length, it got in and out before it wore out its welcome whereas Portal 2 kinda dragged. It's not a terrible game, but I wouldn't call it better than the first one.

The game completely loses its momentum after the famous twist. The final boss is less than stellar as well.
It's not enough to keep it from being a classic, but I'd say that "the best game ever created in our parallel universe without question" should be 10/10 for its entire duration.
That might just be me, though.

Thanks for taking that initiative here @Nillend, the straw poll was a great idea. My heart is still trying to recover from Bioshock being knocked out so early.
