Best of Easy Allies - New (Unofficial) YT Series

Hi Allies, someone suggested I post a thread here.

Some of you may know me (or my channel) as the one who was archiving all the GT twitch streams in the last few months of gametrailers (and the individual twitch streams for a bit afterwards until EZA was announced).

I've decided on starting up a Best Of Series on my YT channel for Easy Allies, as I feel they could really use one and it would be beneficial to the community. There's a special launch release schedule during this anniversary month. I have contacted Brandon for permission to do this just in case (didn't want to get in the way if they had something similar planned). Waiting on a reply, I know they're busy. But seeing as I had this whole thing planned out I've gone ahead and started it up for now.

Throughout this month, up till March 21st, I'll be posting a Best Of video every other day, starting coverage from the first week of this year. With the March 21st video basically being all caught up and current. After that point, I aim to release a Best of video every week that covers the prior week's content. The first one has already gone up as of yesterday, the next one will go up tomorrow. No set plans to cover 2016 content yet, but once I'm at the weekly release schedule, I may start doing 2016 content on the side, at my own pace when I have additional time.

My aim with this is to provide an entertaining look for folks both familiar and non-familiar with Easy Allies and hopefully get them to check out more content. I will tend to avoid stuff that requires knowledge of the "lore" and also may not include all the greatest moments from a particular video, in order to include some good moments from another. Also, content that may be easily missed, may get a higher priority at showing up in the video as well.

Edit: Decided on making a companion "Round Two" series that offers an additional round of content that got cut the first time around, either due to length, messing with pacing or requiring some prior knowledge, this one is intended for folks that just want more (which are likely existing fans) and these videos can end up being very short or really long, no set length. Each corresponding week's round two video will release 3-4 days after the main best of video. Also, even with this additional video, there's plenty of stuff that gets cut, it's not like I'm putting in every single good moment from the week. Far, far from it. (If I was doing that, the each week's videos would total up to 90-120 minutes)

June 2nd Update: I've decided on a set schedule now and will be maintaining the current ~4 week gap between content coverage. A new vid from now on should go up every Monday (Best of) & Friday (Round Two) at 8pm ET/5pm PT

I think this is cool! As its all about the allies and not promoring outside work and stuff, I believe this will only benefit the community and maybe even help people catch up which are busy and cant catch every piece of excellent content from the allies!

This will do well for Easyallies. Definitely give a boost to popularity and showcase the greatest moments which fans and the community could catch up on. I have subscribed to the channel to watch these. Great work pal!

I would love a 2016 series, which in my opinion is probably more useful than a best of series of events that just happened.

500+ hours of footage (narrowed down to 30 hours of footage, further narrowed and edited down to a total run time of just over 4 hours, across 22 videos)
132 hours of sifting through footage + editing (does not include the time spent on videos that I would watch normally/all the way through at regular speed like all the produced shows that are put on the main EZA channel and certain streams once in a while)

zero games played, zero shows watched, 1 movie watched (due to a forced break as a result of a power outage, LOL). It was everything EZA throughout the whole month.

Thank you for all the work you put into these, you are incredibly dedicated and deserve so much praise!

I can personally say, it helped with some friends who were coming to the concert but weren't super familiar with everything EZA. We'd shown them stuff in the past, and gave them some primer playlists with our favorite videos, but they couldn't get through it all by the time we were heading out to LA. The night before we left, we sat them down with some of your best of vids and they enjoyed it a lot! Thanks again for your tireless efforts, L&R!

These need to be promoted for real by the Allies themselves, and I think eventually some of them should be uploaded to their Youtube channel and you should be compensated for your time and work. People keep talking about how these could raise the profile of Easy Allies but none of the videos have more than 2,000 views because nobody in the group has promoted them in a public way. You should be treated by Easy Allies the same way CaptainPajamaPants is treated by Funhaus.
