How did you guys create this website?

I can buy a domain name for .99 cents and I'm really thinking about it, but I'm curious as to how you would make a website with already having the domain name. Is there a software, or is it all code?

The main easy allies site is all custom code that I wrote. The forums are software you can install for free called NodeBB. You could also have used something like Wordpress for the main site, or Squarespace is a good place to get started.
