The Greatest thing I have experienced in BotW (Sky Piracy).

If only it was as exciting as it looks. The balloons pop really fast, so you have to scramble to keep putting more down, and you tend to only get straight vertical lift, so it's not very useful at all unless you need to only go up, which is a rare need anywhere with a raft laying around. It's also extremely easy to accidentally tilt the raft to a degree you can't stand on anymore. There's loads of really cool things you can do in Breath of the Wild that are as amazing as the screenshots would have you believe, but this one is just on the silly side.
-
@Mbun Your pessimism is exactly why I want to attempt to move a Raft to where is should never belong. Silly? Absolutely.

It took me around 40 hours and bumping into the kid who wanted me to make 3 barrels float to learn that balloons were even a thing. Do they serve any real practical purpose (besides pillaging the skies of course)?
-
I wish you could get them to not pop. I want to fly around forever!!!
-
@Tragosaurus I've used them before to float bombs up to ore deposits too high to toss a bomb at, but bomb arrows can fill the same purpose much easier. You can also use them on those giant stone slabs strangely enough. It's funny cause they're so heavy to move even with stasis but the balloons easily lift them.
-
@Mbun Wow that's awesome to know. I struggled for a while to find ways to move those stone slabs because they are so heavy. Things that I thought should work didn't make it budge. Funny that a little balloon does the trick.
-
That isn't so much @Mbun's pessimism as it is the literal mechanics that were programmed into the game. Plenty of things — like using magnesis in combat — are impractical, and boat floats are on the extreme side of that even.
-
@Haru17 It's just the kinda thing you see and get excited, then try and get disappointed.
managing expectations
-
@Tragosaurus you can hook them to sleeping enemies

@FF7Cloud Mother Base would be proud.

The greatest thing to me in BotW is propably that now already legendary moment when Rich Evans explained Neil Breen's Double Down.
