I'm getting this error message every time I try to update the list with my kills and saves.
"Post content was flagged as spam by Akismet.com"
I would like to kill the first Half-Life, because it isn't better than the 2nd one that's on this list, and I would like to save Final Fantasy VIII, because it's my favorite Final Fantasy game.
If someone could update the list for me, I would appreciate it. If this doesn't count, that's fine too.

@Descendant I had the same error, but I tried posting it a few more times and it popped up. Probably has something to do with the spam plug-ins the forum has recently added. If it still doesn't let you post, I should be back in 30 minutes or so to sort out the list... unless someone beats me to the punch.

Thanks for killing World of Warcraft by the way, @CGamor7. There's no need to have it in for Skyrim, though. Oblivion has its more in-depth town quests, and Skyrim its more naturalistically-crafted world. I don't get the 'I liked an entry in this series better, so all the rest must die!' ethic.
I'm protecting Life is Strange because it's probably the story I've enjoyed most this gen after Persona 5, and it seems just niche enough for someone who hasn't played it or has a bias against teenage characters to kill without a second thought.

@Brannox it might be a good idea for something like this to cut the entries we are killing and the ones we are shielding from the list, and pasting them at the bottom to two separate list, that would make it much easier to keep this updated with each killing.

First and foremost: @Yoshi There is no reason to be disparaging. Everyone has followed the rules for almost a year since the inclusion of these threads. You are always welcome to participate, but if you don't wish to follow the rules, no one is forcing you to post. Because there is a rules violation, I'm revoking your last kill/save, but keeping the first.
Second: My apologies to EVERYONE for list upkeep. I was afraid of this, and I had another idea to handle this, but it was more cumbersome onto you all, so I didn't want to do it.
This means there is an even 82. (This keeps from there being an odd number) Shadow of the Colossus returns, and Xenoblade Chronicles X loses its shield status
Third: Thanks @SabotageTheTruth for trying to be on top of it, especially when your attention was/is diverted elsewhere. I really appreciate it. Also, because there has been so much that has happened already, ret-conning the posts in the interim is too much to worry about at this stage logistically, so everything stays.
Fourth: @CGamor7 As Evil looks upon the land, it sees growing unrest. Uprising as those whose emotions it toyed with seek redemption and revenge. Don't worry. I've got an idea I think you're going to like, if we ever get around to it...
Fifth: @bard91 Great idea! As I recently mentioned above I actually had a similar idea and it involved taking games off and individuals keep track of their own saves, then policing the list to make sure they weren't unduly elminated, but I like your idea better!
SO: With that being said - IN GAME RULE CHANGE
The following is split into two lists: Games left to be killed and games saved. When you kill a game, eliminate it as normal (
like this). When you save one, MOVE IT to the second list and BOLD that. Concurrent players DO NOT have to keep the bolded title from the previous player. Once the top list is completely exhausted, REPEAT that process for Round 2 (Though I hope to spot it in time to leave in between round thoughts, but if I don't catch it in time, keep right on playing). PLEASE CONTINUE WITH GIVING YOUR REASONS.GAMES TO KILL:

Silent Hill 2@Brannox, while I was away, I also realized having the list split by saved/to be killed would be easier and hey, looks like you came to the same conclusion!
Now, I'll hurt you a little by killing Kingdom Hearts II. This is the game that made me dislike the series. You can say the first is convoluted and at points it is, but this second game... ugh. Combat improved but everything else suffered here. I actually liked the weird intro where you're not playing as Sora (and don't really even know what is happening unless you played Chain of Memories) but it quickly goes downhill from there. This game had so much potential and yet it feels squandered, or at least misplaced. Oh yeah, when I was a teenager, this game literally broke apart my best friendship at the time. It all started with us trying to share a PS2 to play it, which led to tension between us, which then led to him luring my girlfriend at the time over with the game, which then led to infidelity. So maybe I've got some weird/bad juju associated with this title as well.
After that overshare of information, I'm saving Silent Hill 2. Survival-horror games always get killed in these lists due to someone not liking the genre, but that's usually the only reason given. SH2 is a masterpiece of a psychological horror experience that employs an unreliable narrator and a spooktastic world to get under your skin. The ending is pure brilliance as well.

@SabotageTheTruth First, it doesn't hurt. It can't. Not anymore. I have built up such an immunity, seeing baby after precious baby, mercilessly and needlessly slaughtered before my very eyes, there is nothing in KYB that phases me anymore. It cannot harm that which feels no pain X^)
On a serious note, thanks for sharing. That. SUCKS. More than I care to even attempt to put into words.
So make your strikes. Cast out that which I hold dear. Just know that if you do so only to draw satisfaction from wounding me, it shall FAIL!!! (Again, CLEARLY you are not doing so, but, you know... for reference in the future, and on principle)
