That's News!

My worry is that success will make Nintendo complacent like it did with the Wii.
So far they've been doing well with the Switch and game releases, so hopefully they keep that up.

@El-Shmiablo With what? the gaming droughts? the problem is, nintendo simply didnt have that many 1st party/ second party studios that can output that many quality games that quick. Its a little bit better now that platinum games is on board and monolith soft is a much larger studio now. and third party support seems a lot better too comparatively. i wouldn't call it complacence though, maybe better resource management?
-
Switch third party support is nowhere even close to the Wii at this time in its life cycle — people developed hundreds of unique games for the Wii not just the mini game collections that everyone reductively cites. The Switch had more indie games because there simply are more indie games in 2017. And Mario + Rabbids. That's about it outside of ports.
We're still only about a year out from Star Fox 0 and Paper Mario: Color Splash, two from Mario Party 10, Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, and Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival. Until they prove otherwise, Nintendo internal is only putting a bit of budget behind Mario, Zelda, and to a lesser extent Mario Kart and Smash each about every 5 years, then releasing so many cheap, awful games outside of those big series. Like, they could make a fun sports or party game. They could choose to not put out shit.
Even Smash Bros. 4, Splatoon, and ARMS have been characterized by their limited content, modes, or close similarity to their predecessors.

EA possibly backpedaling on their "No remasters" comment a few years back?

I'll admit I want BP on modern systems, but I expect that if it does happen lootboxs or something will be added to it.Also Disney acquired Fox

@Zedoary I love how they've somehow found a way to sell one game six different times.

Don't know if this really counts as news, but somebody made a fan trailer for Death Stranding and it is actually pretty amazing.

Sentences that give me a headache include...

@Haru17
Adventure Time?
-
-
The developer best suited for Switch continues to dodge the Switch.
-
@Haru17 I guess SMT V doesn't count
-
@ib0show I'm pretty sure that's a different team within Atlus. P Studio makes all the Persona games...
-
@Haru17 The Persona team is working on a new IP so I don't know how they're avoiding a 9 month old console. Also it's coming to the Vita which is similar to the Switch.
-
@ib0show Catherine was made by P Studio — the connection isn't complicated.
-
@Haru17 Catherine was made years ago long before the Switch, this new Catherine is made by another team.
-
How do you not put an updated Catherine on the Switch?! It's like a match made in heaven. Weird Atlus being weird I guess.
