I was talking about 'reach' not sales. (because who would buy a game for $60 when it's on the pass for $10) Those 'incredibly niche' games might have 'reached' way more people if they sold for $10.

For the price of $10 it very well might be. Sea of Thieves being on the game pass is almost guaranteed to reach as much users as HZD, possibly more if it goes on/improves.
I want to point out that I'm not bashing PS exclusives for 'poor sales'. (although they sold less than I assumed, but what do I know anyways) I just think potential for $10 AAA games is vast, and the business model is extremely consumer friendly.

Of course it is consumer friendly. Microsoft has no choice but to bend over backwards to please the consumer at this point. The Xbox One is the Gamecube of this generation, minus the good exclusives.

Yume Nikki 3D! That artwork looks so good. And it's releasing next month for $20. That's a great announcement.

@Rock It's either going to absolutely amazing or the biggest trainwreck that never should've happened, but for now the original is on Steam for free and that makes me happy enough to justify this thing's existence no matter which way it ends up.

So according to the Director for BBCTB says that the game plus it's season pass will cost the same as a normal game.

Probably because a quarter of the cast are brand new sprites.
I think another question to ask, is why not release the game now, the main 20 are completed and balanced, and EVO Japan will have a demo with the initial 20. Why not release it now instead of in June where people still have to wait for the other 20 to be released.

So it's like early access? Okay, if it adds up to $60 I think all reasonable complaints against the release structure have evaporated — If you don't want to play a game before all of the content is finished, wait.

Kikiyama oversaw the project every step of the way and approved all ideas. All members of the team were also told to play Yume Nikki to completion if they hadn't already. I am very confident.
