Big Layoffs Hit Agents of Mayhem Developer Volition
I really believe the marketing team for AOM is to blame here, nobody knew what this game was before release, plus i am playing the game and it's a 7.5 if you're generous.
-
@A7X458 That's predictable sadly. I wonder what made them change from Saints Row 5, I always gathered that their sandbox cities were received fairly well by the gaming audience. I guess SR4 did re-use the city map from 3, so maybe they're having development trouble.

@Haru17
A.O.M is Saints Row 5, or at least it was damn close to it. There's a picture floating around just before the E3 where it was revealed.Personally I find A.O.M a ok game if you can snag it for about $30 you'll at least get your money's worth, but I feel like there was a lack of focus, and the desire to have 15-16 playable characters ended up pulling away from what could have been a fun romp thru a G.I Joe inspired series.
It also doesn't help much that some characters are just down right OP ,once you get Red Card with his op rifle/shotgun combo I doubt you'll take him out, he's also the only character that can switch weapons.

Darkest Dungeon is coming to Switch. It is very good as a portable game, since it's turn-based and you can do a dungeon run rather quickly.

Alright, here's a strange and seemingly very bad one. Nintendo has announced the end of the Wii Shop channel (different to the Wii U eShop but also on your Wii U via the Wii mode), the last day to add points / funds will be March 27th, 2018 and the last day to purchase software will be January 31st, 2019.
This is obviously a blow for game preservation, there are even some Final Fantasy, Pokemon, and indie titles only ever released as Wiiware. I think this is the first console online storefront to ever close like this and casts a cloud of worry for what will happen to the PS3 and 360 in a few years. Re-downloading digital games and system transferring to Wii U will literally just become impossible. That also has ramifications on what digital game rights actually mean in the long run.

@Haru17 Feels similar to the P.T. situation, but on a larger scale. Hopefully folks can find some way to preserve them beyond Wii/U hard drives. It's just disappointing that they won't be readily available to a mass audience in a way that Nintendo will likely agree with. There are great groups out there dedicated to game preservation, and hopefully this spurs more interest and support for their efforts

@Billy It just seems crazy to shut down a store of all things when the system is still in homes. Like what is the explanation? "We don't want to continue paying the minimal cost of upkeep for our store even if people do give us money for everything on it. We don't want any of those other developers to make any more money either!"
-
@Haru17 Well there's a reason for it.
That elephant is just going to keep doing whatever it wants, even when it makes little sense.
-
didn't the xbox have a storefront
-
@ib0show
I believe it did seeing as Halo 2 had some way to purchase DLC, although I the Xbox store only had a small handful of games and DLC, although im having a little trouble finding info on it right now.
-
Commodore 64 mini is coming to stores sometime next year.
Just looked up the game lineup though... Not good is putting it lightly.
-
@DMCMaster Halo 2 had it's map pack expansion printed on discs, lol. Not sure about anything beyond that.
-
But don't you guys want to buy a Wii U Classic Mini?
You'll get to wait in line for it and everything! Maybe you'll get REAL lucky and have to pay a scalper 200 bux!
-
@jipostus
not even Flimbo's quest? weak
-
@Sieghardt indeed. I am especially bummed out for not having games like Last Ninja, Turrican or International Karate. Though what might safe this little device is the fact that it has USB port that supposedly can be used for firmware updates and so on, so perhaps we can add games ourselves... Or once they get licenses sorted out, they can add more games to it etc. Only time will tell.
-
@El-Shmiablo It's not the Wii U it's the Wii. Original Wii. Check the article I linked.

-
@Haru17 Well thats even better! One of the worst Nintendo consoles ever!
-
@jipostus Hm, it say it has 64 games but the list on their website shows only 37.
