@dmcmaster I legit loved the original game, shame this remake was so far off the mark.
-
@themarcv
Off the mark seems like a understatement, and I can't recall the last time I went from excited at the announcement to disinterested by time the first screenshot was releasedAnyway Slopes Game Room has some stuff relating to a canceled Sin City game, the walkthru of Chapter 1 actually sounds kinda cool.

Capcom Mini arcade Retro station, comes with 5 Street Fighter games and 5 Megaman games (would be odd to play X on a fightstick

@dmcmaster That's a bad title. Japanese version is essentially just "New" The World Ends With You, which is at least better than the non-sensical "Neo." Clearly "2" would've been the best and most appropriate option here.
-
@dmcmaster Got a little excited to see that Capcom mini arcade but hopefully those screens and games are just a base to work from. I'm still waiting on my Marvel vs Capcom arcade 1up machine but I could 100% be sold a Street Fighter Alpha or SF3 machine as well. I know it didn't get a lot of love but the mini neogeo machine packed more of a punch, even though I still think the N/A version should have been modeled off the Big Red MVS machines.
-
@naltmank I like it.
-
-
@dmcmaster 1000%, I have no idea why they thought the N/A audience would have any nostalgia for their arcade machines which were only in Japan (I think at least, I only ever saw the Big Reds and loved them). As a huge MVS fan that was super disappointing, though I did still buy one. That bartop arcade was incredibly tempting too, at the end of the day it was that or the Marvel v Capcom arcade 1up cab and I went with that. Down the road if that bad boy goes on sale tho, I might not be able to stop myself. Wish it had Windjammers though.

@themarcv
Btw that one is perfect for like a counter or table

In the spirit of "That's News" and "Future News"
Mike Laidlaw, best known as the creative director of the Dragon Age franchise, has started a studio with three other designers who have worked on some of AAA video gaming’s biggest series over the past decade.
Laidlaw will join Ubisoft veterans Thomas Giroux (The Crew), Jeff Skalski, and Frederic St.-Laurent B. (both Assassin’s Creed Syndicate) in founding Yellow Brick Games, “an independent studio dedicated to making original, new games of high quality,” the studio said in a news release. Yellow Brick Games will be based in Quebec City.

15 employees is a far cry from the types of games these guys are used to making, but the industry is booming right now, and I bet they'll have no trouble getting a demo off the ground with 15 then ramping up to a bigger size. My instinct tells me they are going to make AAA games with large teams.

Phantasy Star: New Genesis stream set for December 19th (pretty sure this is a separate game from PSO2)

I see what you did there.
-
"The crew is about a splinter cell compared to the size of Ubisoft" just had a try-hard vibe to it...
-
@el-shmiablo Oh man good eye, as someone that loves puns that one was scrumptious. Well done @DIPSET!

This made me more excited then I thought

@dmcmaster Agreed, I don't even play MK 11 anymore and I still want that Sonya skin.
-
@themarcv Everyone wants the Sonya skin, solely to get rid of the current Sonya.

@mbun
Well if Rhonda didn't deliver everything like a piece of driftwood people wouldn't want to replace her. Then again why is it like half the voice cast gets changed from game to game.
Anyway awesome to hear the Highlander reprised Raiden

@dmcmaster Voice actors get paid much more for repeat performances.
Basically unless your voice is super iconic to a specific role, you gon' get replaced.
-
@dmcmaster Yeah, I mean I think it's pretty clear getting her to do VO was mostly just a marketing gimmick. I think we all know doing VO isn't something anyone can just walk in and nail, you actually need to be able to act, she was just reading lines.
