Sony just bought Funimation
-
Think of all of the IP's that Funimation has that Sony can now let any of its partnered studios work with.
also, they must of really not liked that a japanese IP (Dragonball) was such a big deal at the xbox conference...

@Stormcrownn
Funimation can't grant licenses to make games, that's up to whomever has the rights (which for the most part is Namco Bandai)
-
@Lotias I doubt they will give us anime because of PS+ price increase.
-
If we're being honest, Sony will probably just raise sub fees there too and slap some ads on the PS Store. I'm really not a fan of all of the monopolization in the entertainment industry, though video games are in a weird place to begin with given that it's taken three elsewhere-established companies to create lasting lines of platforms. Let's just hope Microsoft doesn't get bored, and maybe some anime deals, yeah?
-
To be fair Funimation overcharges for their services as well as their disc based retail products to begin with, so perhaps with a company that HAS money running the ship, maybe that will change.
-
@Haru17 If sub prices are raised it isn't because of Sony but it was planned also Universal also own Crunchyroll
-
@ib0show What does that sentence mean?
-
@ZyloWolfBane
Funimation Now is like $5 a month, although there physical releases are a mixed bag on their price
-
@DMCMaster said in Sony just bought Funimation:
@ZyloWolfBane
Funimation Now is like $5 a month, although there physical releases are a mixed bag on their priceI couldn't keep the blasted thing working well enough for it to even be worth that much, compare that to any other service out there....why bother?
I'd rather resub to crunchyroll and watch subs.
-
@ib0show yeah that would prolly be too good to be true... but one can wish!
-
@Haru17 I thought you were talking about Crunchy Roll, I didn't know Funimation has their own streaming service.
