Potential new Tony Hawk game (with new developer)
-
Now this is already several months old,
but since I saw this getting zero attention anywhere,
I just wanted to share this, so people who might be interested will know.I'm sure that I'm not the only fan of the Tony Hawk games who was very disappointed by all the lazy cash grab entries of the last years, but who also still has a shred of hope inside, that there could be a good Tony Hawk game again some day.
And earlier this years, the Hawk (Kaw-kaw?) gave at least me some hope.
I'll link the source down below, but here are the bullet points:
- Tony Hawk stated that he was talking to developers about making a new game
- nothing had been signed yet (Jan 2017)
- Hawk confirmed it's without Activision
https://www.vg247.com/2017/01/30/tony-hawk-is-working-on-a-new-game-and-not-with-activision/
Now, I looked all over Google and Reddit,
and nothing else on this topic emerged since then,
besides one of the original THPS developers from former Neversoft stating that he would love to be involved:So, wouldn't get my hopes up to high.
The good thing is, that this wasn't just a rumor, but a statement by Tony Hawk in an interview. The bad thing is, that he said nothing was signed, and that we didn't hear anything for half a year.So maybe it will come, maybe not, maybe a Kickstarter, maybe a different Publisher is on board - who knows.

They don't exist anymore, y'know.

Tony Hawk is my favourite gaming franchise believe it or not and it has had a lasting impact on many aspects of my life.
I'm always down for more of that perfectly fluid gameplay fuzed with hilarity, charm, and punk rock.
The problem with the shitty cash grab Tony Hawk games is that they messed with the perfect combo system and when they returned to THPS5, they made it sluggish and clunky. It needs to go back to it's roots but also infuse the elements of skate culture to give the series the character it once had. I always loved Tony Hawk's Underground because you play as a real skate rat. I'd like for something like that again.

@Oscillator I know, I meant the people behind Neversoft

Be more careful with your singulars and plurals, then. :P
