Weeb Games (Japanese Games Appreciation Thread)

@sacred-arfaid Considering these kinds of games tend to rely on diehard, niche fanbases that will have no qualms moving from one system to another if that's what it takes I don't think the size of the install base matters. At least, not if the developers feel burned by the company that makes the console. Even if it does though the Switch is only barely behind the PS4 in Japan and will probably pass it in short order. Really though the true test is if they decide to stick with Sony on the PS5 when the new console gen starts soon or if they abandon them entirely for Switch/PC/maybe even Xbox if MS decides to try another push like they have done in the past.

That would depend on what you mean by smaller. I feel like the games you're talking wouldn't really constitute a mass exodus. Now the smaller devs that still have a bit of clout would still see the PS4 install base as a factor. I'm talking about the company with games that have some degree of worldwide presence.

Stumbled across this, it's a change petition but maybe it can get some results.....maybe

The disgusting attitude by Sony and the people defending this censorship is beyond disappointing. I hope Sony realizes the idiocy of their actions and stops relying on the vocal minority that had zero intent on ever buying those games to begin with. Otherwise, I will just move over to Switch/Xbox entirely for third party games.

Here is something positive: it looks like Granblue Fantsy is getting a stateside release and two games coming to the states.
First is Granblue Fantasy: Relink. The action-rpg co-developed with Cygames and Platinum.
And there is a fighting game being developed by Arc System works, called Granblue Fantasy Versus. Man, ever since FighterZ, they've been getting tons of more work.
-
Was started to wonder about relink.
-
@dmcmaster Me too. The last time I heard anything about ReLink was back in 2015. After that it's been radio silence. Probably because of Nier: Automata.
-
PSA apparantly some copies of Kingdom Hearts 3 are out in the wild.

This is also merely a rumor, but apparently that announcement of the Grand Blue fighting game has given some credibility to a rumor 'Complete' version of Persona 5, along with a delay on a P5 arena, since it was brought up in a japanese board a few days ago, where all of these were mentioned and there were no previous rumors of a Grand Blue fighter.

@DMCMaster it's insane that happened more than a month before release
