Weeb Games (Japanese Games Appreciation Thread)
@DMCMaster This is why I'm always reluctant to import japanese games, I'm glad Bullet Girls is getting an english asia release at least.
Not many objects to interact with in this game
Always been my fear too, although this is the first time I've ever been genuinely stuck, but with no NPCs, or things to interact with, not much I can do.

@DMCMaster Geez then you really are stuck. Maybe just load up an earlier save if you have one and try again.

How could I possibly appreciate games that pander to the otaku with their abundance of fanservice and low-budget cash-ins that sour the whom industry!!.
Sarcasm that is BTW. While I do not appreciate the term Weeb, as if it's some way to categorize a type of game (can't be done), I adore a wealth of quality Japanese games. I'm going to expand on this with photos, it will just have to be later.

100% Orange Juice has a Halloween event going on right now. New costumes you can unlock and some new community-made cards. None really stand out to me honestly besides Price of Power.

I've been reminiscing a lot about Persona 2 the past few days, but that game is surprisingly weeby. I mean, just look at it.
(Ekichi is that a MOTHERFKING JOJO REFERENCE ?!)
(I mean, just look at these character designs. Maya looks like she just stepped out of a J-pop girl group practice, and Ekichi looks like the epitome of 90's Harajuku street fashion. Tatsuya and Ginko are just wearing their school uniforms but they're pretty extra as far as school uniforms go. Jun is also just wearing a uniform, but like look at his hair, and he's clutching a flower against his chest. He's so dramatic.)
In conclusion Persona 2 is just as anime inspired as the other Persona games.
The new Sword Art Online game Fatal Bullet will come to us on February 23rd, and I have to say I like the gamplay in this trailer. if it controls how it looks like this could be a pretty neat anime TPS.
Well this is a thing, Persona 5 digital only Ultimate Edition, like, why?
Here is a review for Touhou Kobuto V: Burts Battle, eh, changing Rumia to Lumia is just another one of NISA's bad localizations, maybe I'll buy this one used someday, they got my money for the previous Touhou 2 games, Genso Rondo and Genso Wanderer.
Some more info and pics for Metal Max XENO
The links are dead but we might finally get a complete Kingdom Hearts collection, I ahve been waiting for this.
@michemagius Are there people saying it isn't? Lol.
The japanese Yakuza channel released a few videos with the voice actors of the Yakuza series who are now doing the voices in Hokuto Ga Gotoku, they are sadly not subbed but i personally like to guess who they are voicing before they say it themself, and I get most right, I know my Hokuto ;) The VA of Raoh doesn't look like I was expecting, lol, dat voice tho.

@Torigasa-Reta I hope you actually get to create your own character in the new Sword Art Online game.
I've played a few of the previous SAO games and I don't understand the developer's logic behind forcing you to play as Kirito while allowing you to customize your avatar. It seems like this weird and unsatisfying middle ground to me. Either create a story around a new player made character or focus completely on Kirito. I mean, the world of SAO certainly allows for Kirito to look different but when all the cutscenes use his default look it just feels so out of place to me.
I could be in the minority though. Maybe it doesn't bother most people at all. I do feel like I'm in the majority when I say that a new player created character would be more exciting though. That's the dream of SAO isn't it? Be whoever you want to be? It seems like a huge missed opportunity to not make at least one big SAO game with a story revolving around a new protagonist of the players making.
Maybe the market for the game would rather put themselves into Kirito's shoes and build up relationships with characters that they already know and love from the show. Or maybe I'm just letting my bemusement at the lack of an actual SAO MMO spill over as criticism towards the other SAO games.
@Light In the trailer there is character costumization and it lets you choose between male and female, dunno how deep it is though.
We have the 1st full trailer and some more infor for Metal Max XENO
There is another new sword design (aka new character) revealed for Xenoblade Chronicles 2, don't click if you don't want spoilers
Else there are a bunch of lewd trailers for Senran Kagura Burst Re:Newal which I can't link here as they are on LewdGamer.
Xseed has released a small character trailer for Zwei: The Ilvard Insurrection
Castle Panzer's just got DLC that allows you to make things bigger.......I bought it (can't complain either since its like $2)
@DMCMaster Have you been able to continue in the game?
Dragon's Crown Pro for PS4 will allow crossplay multiplayer between PS4, PS3 and even Vita.
Nope, although the game recently got a patch that's making things a bit more manageable (such as showing the required items, and highlighting names of monster girls you can pet) still haven't figured out what to do, but I think I have an idea what to do....maybe.....hopefully.

Anyone care to recommend some Weeb games specifically of the RPG kind for a gamer on a budget? I've a ps3/4 vita, PC and 3DS as my primary consoles. Looking for something obscure or at least something more niche than your Tales/Final Fantasy/Persona tier JRPGS.

@JamboHyland95 I'm sure many of us here would recommend the Legend of Heroes' Trails games, I specifically have only played Trails of Cold Steel 1&2, and I was very impressed by them (especially the first), they are available for Vita/PS3 and the first one is already on PC with the second one coming sometime soon.
There's also the Trails in the Sky series, which I have no experience with but many claim they are the best in the series, and those are available on Steam, in any case, the series is criminally underrated in my opinion you can tell the games don't have a lot of resources behind them, but to me that makes it more impressive how they manage to make such great games with what they have.

@bard91 I'm 50 hours into trails of cold steel 1 (amazing game) and about 20 hours into trails in the sky!!

I really want to like Cold Steel. The voice acting is fucking superb, the world seems so interesting, and the characters are, despite being some of the most overplayed anime tropes in existence, really good... but CHRIST nothing happens.
25 hours in and I still haven't advanced the plot in any significant way.
