Awesome idea! I made it a point to finish more games last year, and I shocked myself with 43 completions. I will likely not come anywhere close to that this year (Monster Hunter is an alluring time sink), but hopefully I’ll get through some great games.
- 1/1 - Fire Emblem Warriors (Switch)
- 2/15 - Earth Defense Force 4.1 (PS4)
- 2/18 - Cuphead (Xbone)
- 2/21 - Crash Bandicoot (PS4)
- 2/22 - Crash Bandicoot 2 (PS4)
- 3/18 - God of War 3 (PS4)
- 3/27 - LEGO Jurassic World (PS4)
- 3/29 - Yakuza 0 (PS4)
- 4/2 - Shadow of the Colossus (PS4)
- 4/23 - Yakuza Kiwami (PS4)
- 4/23 - Crash Bandicoot: Warped (PS4)
- 4/28 - Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (PS4)
- 4/29 - Gone Home (PS4)
- 5/1 - Limbo (PS4)
- 5/2 - Bound (PS4)
Edit: Making a list definitely has motivated me to complete more games, and it hasn’t felt like the chore of “cleaning my backlog.” Instead, I’ve had a great opportunity to experience some great games. All these so far are first playthroughs. If I replay anything, I’ll likely put it on, too.
-
I've only beat one game so far this year, Super Mario Odyssey! I haven't gotten all 999 stars or however many there are but I beat the main game and saw credits roll so I'll count it as completed. I don't think I'll ever go for 100% completion, that's not really my style, but I'm enjoying the post game a lot. I'm hoping to beat Splatoon 2's story mode and Okami HD for PS4 next. I've beat Okami a few times and it's in my top 3 games of all time so I know it pretty well, hopefully I'll be able to beat it quickly.

Wolfenstein 2. The New Colossus. I quite enjoyed it, would have liked there to be a bit more gameplay with more interesting levels. Overall gameplay wise not as good as the new order. Pretty decent story but I think my expectations were a little high given the rave reviews it got. Still one of my favourite games of the year given that it doesn't outstay its welcome & drag on for a 100 hours like most games in 2017.

I'm not trying to be down on the purpose of the thread, it's a good idea. But if you really want to track the games you complete, may I suggest making an account on HowLongToBeat.com.
It has tools for timing your playthroughs and logging those times, as well as Backlog management. Not only will it allow you to track your completed games but also the ones you retire. It also allows you to separate your completed games into categories between I got to the credits, I got to the credits and went out of my way to do some side content, and I beat 100% of the games content.
I'll post my list here though too!

Cool idea, here's my list!
- Call of Duty WWII. Great campaign, IMO the best CoD in recent years.
- Titanfall 2. I regret not picking this game up earlier, the campaign is SO GOOD!
- Virginia. Very weird game, don't know what to think about it honestly.
- Wolfenstein II The New Colossus. A undoubtedly worthy sequel of arguably 2014's best game (take that, GameTrailers!).
- The Order 1886. It had it problems, but it was worth the 10$ i pay for it. Fantastic visuals and weapons bring it a step above average for me.
- Crash Bandicoot (PS4 version). The last few levels are ridiculous, but i still really enjoy it.
- Mega Man 1 (Legacy Collection). A decent debut game.
- Far Cry 5. This is what Far Cry 4 should have been.
- Shadow of the Colossus (PS4). Soon to be one of the greats!
- Abzu. Not just a sight for sore eyes.
- Mad Max. Suprisingly great!
- Persona 5. My 2nd favorite game of all time!
- Parappa the Rapper Remastered. Super jolly game.
- God of War (PS4). Near perfect!
- Mega Man 2. A small improvement over the first game.
- Dishonored 2. Why did i skip this game before?
- Ruiner. CYBERPUNK HYPE
- Aragami. Super solid hardcore stealth game.
- Aragami: Nightfall. Good DLC.
- Killzone: Shadow Fall. Great value for 10$, lol.
- Mega Man 7. My favorite classic MM so far.
- Uncharted Drake's Fortune (Replay). I streamed it, 4 hour playthrough!
- Jak 3. Easily the best in the series.
- Shenmue. Loved it!
- Uncharted: Golden Abyss. Solid, worthwhile entry to the series.
- Spider-Man. Best superhero game ever!
-

Do only games count you have beaten for the 1st time or are replays of older games eligeble as well? Like for example I have beaten RE7 already once but bought the Gold Edition and want to play through it again (didn't got all coins and statues, also want to go bad ending), or that I have pre-ordered the awesome N64 gamepad from Retro Fighters and most probably will replay some N64 games with that.
-
I was also going to ask about replays, but I'm just going to include them for now.

To those asking about replays, there's no strict rules here. If you wanna count them, go for it.
-
Ok, in all seriousness I am asking because I want to make a lifestyle change that incorporates A) better health and B) more video games played. Neither are related but maybe schedule changes can incorporate both.
When I see that it is Jan 10th and some of us have beaten up to 4 games this month, I am honestly asking... how????? Where do you find the time to get this in? Is it on your days off, is it after work/school, is it most of your time on weekends?
I'm in my early 20s trying to start my career and as I've brought up before, I have no idea where I'm supposed to find the time or energy to play any longer than 60 min a night after finishing work, walking to buy groceries, walking home, making dinner, other chores, hanging out with friends on weekends, etc. There have to be some mom's and dad's in here that have it worse. Where do you fit it in? Or do you just not sleep much or stay awake really late?

I work a standard 9:00-5:00 job and I have to say my main gaming times are either late evenings or the weekends. I tend to game every day, if it's a weekday, I tend to sit down about 8:00 or 9:00 pm, but then I'll play to about 12:00 or 1:00. I also often wake early as well, so it's not uncommon for me to get several hours in Saturday morning. Sunday is the day I game the most though, I generally do nothing, so it's quite common to see me play a good eight hours stretched across the whole day and evening.
I usually end up with about 30 to 40 hours played per week, bear in mind though that I don't watch TV and very rarely watch movies these days either, i'd just much rather play a game. If I have to pin it down to what makes it the easiest for me though, it's what you asked at the end there, I'm honestly good with just a few hours sleep every night. I also learned quite a while back to not try and do everything in my games, I very rarely find it worth it. I've beaten Xenoblade 2 for example, but I only clocked in at around 55 hours by the end, that's more than enough imo.

@DIPSET Some games are probably short or they started them before 2018

I think I need to do those Sunday 8 hour marathons. Just get up early, do my real life things, then hunker down and play some video games.
-
Don't think my list will be super long this year (to be fair 2017 was very few too).
We just have to wait until end of December and see I guess.
Thus far 2018:
TBAI started this year with loads of traveling so have only played Final Fantasy X on my Vita where Im a few hours in, but its a big game.
