The 2018 Winter Olympics

A really happy way to wake up into a new week hearing some medal news. During the night Enni Rukajärvi had won bronze in women's slopestyle, yeah! She's a really positive person, I love her smile, and I'm just happy for her right now. Apparently the conditions had been really rough in the competition, even dangerous at times. She, too, had fallen in her first try, but kept her cool then in the second run.

I’m so glad Mirai Nagasu landed her triple axel! It was awesome!
-
Watching curling is soothing.
-
@sentinel-beach Yeah I think its one of my new favourite sports to watch!
-
@sentinel-beach Did anyone else see Canada's "360 No-Scope" during Curling? It was epic!
-
@michemagius I think I watched Canada - UK from the End 4 onwards, but I don't know about that "trick". The jargon around the sport isn't that familiar to me. :)
-
Doesn't happen too often: the bronze medal was shared in women's 10 km skiing. Pärmäkoski and Bjørgen had the exact same time. Even two flags on the same pole, heh.
-
Another Gold to Sweden after Hanna Öberg's performance in 15km biathlon. Still far away from our arch enemy Norway
-
@lotias Öberg's win was a big surprise, what a time to take it. She looked really sweet waiting there for the others to finish. Like she couldn't believe what was going on. Congrats!
-
This year around, not so far in the Winter Olympics Pavel Trikhichev could've died in a accident which occurred due to heavy wind.
-
Oh goodness, I’m so relieved that Yuzuru Hanyu did so well in the short program. I always want to root for my home country but Yuzuru has always been my favorite skater (outside of Ashley Wagner).
-
At least there's ice hockey for us Finns, the one winter sport where we can actually beat Norway, lol. But hey, on Sunday it'll be a different story. FIN - SWE, the eternal struggle... ;)
-
Finnish women just won bronze in ice hockey against OAR (Russia). That was a tight match, I'm happy for the team.
-
Men's ice hockey: Finland's out, damn it. But in a shocking turn of events, so is Sweden. Germany, wtf? What a moment to win.
-
@sentinel-beach Yeah I did NOT see that coming! that Germany is doing so well feels.. kinda wrong! To be fair I have seen a few games whilst visiting Berlin and they do have some good ice hockey there
-
@sentinel-beach Yeah, I'm always happy to see Canada move on but never at the expense of an Ally. I didn't catch it but it sounds like it was super close. Congrats to the Finnish women's team. Hopefully Canada can get a win too but this American team is no joke. Either way, it should at least be entertaining.
-
@e_zed_eh_intern Yeah, the North American teams are still clearly on their own level when it comes to the women's hockey. The final game should be good, I reckon.
-
What. The. Hell. :D Germany wins Canada in ice hockey and gets to play for the gold on Sunday. Unbelievable. A beautiful surprise, what a tournament story.
-
@sentinel-beach Pretty crazy!! I was asleep for most of it but it's good to see the Cinderella story continue! Of course I would prefer to see Canada continue but semi-finals is way more than I expected from this team anyway. Can you imagine if Germany beats OAR? They don't have their NHLers either but they've still been the heavy favourites from day 1. That would be huge.
-
@e_zed_eh_intern Yeah, sorry for your team, but you've already won it all before. :) Germany's story is something else entirely. But yes, OAR is still the clear favourite with their KHL roster and all. It would be absolutely earth-shattering if Germany could win it all.
