@cocage My god how could I forget about Vanquish. Such an incredible action game.
-
@cocage @El-Shmiablo Yeah Same here! Its an amazing game and I have played it through over and over again! Great action game and the use of slow mo was great! cool way of limit it and keeping it from being abused. The controls felt so good in it!
-
@lotias I remember when it was announced everybody was like "lol look Japan is trying to be Halo" but then it actually came out and was one of the greatest action games of all time.
-
@cocage Hell yeah, Vanquish and Metal Gear Rising getting some love!
-
@el-shmiablo Oh yeah! I remember downloading the demo because I liked the look of the main character. I found the gameplay to be super hard at first but then the more I played it, the more fluent and smooth it all became. By the end of the game it was like a ballet of dashing, shooting and smashing things up! I so hope that they port it to PS4. doesnt have to be a remaster, just port it please.
-
@lotias I'm certain I remember a remaster being announced a while back.
-
@el-shmiablo I believe that was only a PC port though? or am I completely wrong?

That's all, a remaster has never been announced. Thing is though, it's not a game that ever suffers from it's default framerate.

I didnot liked vanquish at all. i tried it when PC port released. and it feel dull. I thought i may like i but its still cover shooter with sliding mechanics.
not very interesting.
-
@black-cell
Lol look at this guy. He actually used cover in Vanquish!

not very interesting. It's barely ever a cover shooter. In fact it tops all Max Payne games when it comes to the best of the genre.
-
@sheria I honestly forgot there was a cover system in the game until black cell brought it up. I think I only ever used it to vault for the free slow mo.

It's practically useless in the higher difficulties. It's all about your time management and split second choices. It's why I love the game so much.
-
This list is entirely off the top of my head, so I'm sure if I thought about it some more a few might slip in and out. That said I think a gut reaction might be the most honest so here goes:
Yakuza 5
Sonic Mania
Splatoon
Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F
Metal Gear Rising
Super Mario 3D World
Gravity Rush
Gravity Rush 2
Rocket League
Red Dead Redemption

it doesnot even top max payne 3 let alone masterpiece that original was.
sliding with slo mo doesnot make it different than any cover based shooter. the problem with this game is the shooting mechanic is mediocre, its badly design game. plus story is really bad. it has no dept at all.
i couldnot play past 1 hour.
-
Nah, it does. Max Payne actually took second place in regards to the slow down mechanic once Vanquish came out. The game has superb design and I feel safe saying that it's shooting mechanic has actually never been bettered. Its story? yeah, it's poor, but who cares here.
-
@black-cell Being bad at a game doesn't mean it is "poorly designed".

my friend, only FEAR did slow mo right after max payne.
vanquish biggest problem is same as gears of war. its just faster with sliding mechanics. its shooting suck, AI suck, movement is clunky, too repetetive and
You arere frequently forced to run slowly or wait behind cover until the loud, annoying beeping stops.if its not cover shooter why force you into wall cover? max payne 3 did best that it has cover but it never force you.
yes story did matter. third person shooters give excellent story like Mafia 1 and Max payne 1.
Vanquish is fast gears of war.
