I actually deeply love the 8 games I submitted and even had some hard times making cuts on the list. It's no 2017 but making this list reminded me of some real gems. 2014 ain't so bad.

First update:
I received 25 lists, 72 games nominated. That's already a lot!
16 games have 10 points or above, and the Top 3 is within 5 points of each other (and I did not expect that Top 3!!)
There's still a lot of room for any game to win this though, so keep your votes coming!

Request! That's an incredible amount of Games, much more than I expected considering how middling 2014 was as a year, would it be at all possible if you listed every game nominated? Like, anything below the top 25 in one big post, just names and points, and then number 25 onwards gets its own post with more detail like you did with the 2017 list. I realise a lot of those will just be games from people Honorable Mentions with 1 point, but I'd be interested to see what games scrounged a couple of points but not enough to get into top 25. I feel like those will be prime "swimmin' in sevens" possibilities for me to check out at some point.

@hazz3r No problem, I'll do that! But I prefer to list them after the Top 25, because otherwise there's less surprises, people would know which games didn't make it already.

At the time I thought 2014 was a boring year and could only think of a single game that was even worth nominating as a potential GOTY, nevermind winning it. Now that we're 4 years out, I'm a lot kinder to it. While I couldn't really make out a top 10 I got my four main without any issues and the honorable mentions weren't that hard either.

Notably absent from Wikipedia's list is Shadowgate 2014 (released August 21, 2014)
If other people find absences like that please do share them.

@tokyoslim Half my initial list was made up of games that just has ports to new consoles/PC.

@sazime I had 14 games on my list, I had to disqualify one of my top 4 games, as it was a port, and then i added one back in that I missed.
