What do you prefer: Multiplayer or Singleplayer

  • I myself, prefer to play singleplayer games, there are a few games where i play multiplayer. But for the most part I stick to playing singleplayer games

I would say that I am more of a single player person as well. I prefer RPGs with heavy story and a lot of world exploring with good music and characters I can identify with. I do like multiplayer as well though, I have many many hours logged in Titanfall 2 etc. I am also a massive fan of MMOs just for the sake of the social bit. Fighting big bosses with other people, work out strategies and get that loot is a good feeling. So I suppose that I got a foot in each camp!

  • SIngle player easily. MP gaming is boring unless you play with your friends. playing with random people is like playing with improved bots AI. ie not fun at all.

  • Single player, all day, every day. The ONLY time I go Multiplayer is if I have a game that has co-op functionality and I'm playing with a friend. Otherwise, I'm hard out.

  • Single-player games have more of an emotional/intellectual impact for me. Tons of moments of seeing things from someone else's perspective, perusing through new ideas, and being able to appreciate small details at my leisure.

Multiplayer games are more about creating moments and creating laughs. It's less a focus on the game (although that's there) and more a focus on hanging out with friends - which is important, since a lot of mine are scattered throughout the country. There's also a real deep joy when a couple of friends and yourself play a game for the first time and you're figuring things out together. I've had that experience with Monster Hunter World and Fortnite this year alone, I really can't wait for Vermintide 2 on consoles.

I used to be a single-player only fella and while those people aren't "wrong", I honestly do believe I need a bit of both now at all times in my life. An engaging multiplayer experience that I can jump in/jump out of whenever needed, and a big, meaty single-player campaign when I need some alone time. I found a balance that works for me basically.

  • Single player by a good margin. If I can can git gud-ish at a competitive game and play it with friends (CS 1.6/Melee/Third Strike), I love it, but I don't mess around a whole lot with multiplayer.

  • Obviously singleplayer games, the only MP I have played in recent times was Fortnite, because it's free and I wanted to check it out. MP games get boring for me pretty fast, like after 2-4 hours you have seen every map and it's all the same afterwards.

I agree. thats why i hate MP games. and i think MP games should be free.

  • I try not to bring down multiplayer games or gamers but I just hate most of them nowadays. I'm single player all the way.

With that said, SOCOM II used to be my favourite game. I played it from the day I bought my PS2 in 2004 all the way until I bought a PS3 in 2007. I think SOCOM II is one of my favourite games of all time and I used to play that MP day in and out.

  • Online coop multiplayer, but so few games support it.

  • Singleplayer definitely, but i had tons of great memories playing Battlefield 3 the first time, and that made me spend more time in multiplayer ever since.

  • I'm currently taking a multiplayer hiatus because of babby, but I play multiplayer games pretty regularly with a group of friends I've known since high school. Its a mix of stuff like CoD, BF, Seige, Fortnite, Monster Hunter, a few racing games, etc.

Some of my fondest gaming memories ever are from multiplayer games. Tribes 2 and The Specialists will always hold a special place in my heart.

Currently I'm leaning more towards singleplayer games that I can pick up and put down easily.

Singleplayer but multiplayer is still great, my most played games are just that because of their multiplayer (CSGO 1600 hours, H1Z1 650 hours, Modern Warfare 2 500 hours, Halo 3 1,500 online matches played). No singleplayer will ever reach those numbers.

  • Single player all the way, I can't really stand multiplayer.

its opposite for me. for example Team fortress 2 is my fav MP game but I only played it around 65 hours. they always bored me.

  • Singleplayer. I rarely touched multiplayer aside from co-op, and do so now. The only exceptions are DBFighterZ and sometimes Rocket League.

  • Single Player. It is very rare that I play anything multiplayer and when I do it is usually a co-op situation. Playing games with people I don't know has never really had much appeal for me.

  • Single-player mainly, maybe some coop.

i really just like to get completely immersed in a game world lately.

but every once and a while a multiplayer game really hooks me
