The EZA Community Top 25 Best of 2014!

  • @tokyoslim It's the only one of the two I own and own MK8 on. :P

I bought a new video card for my PC and PSVR this year instead of a Switch. The more I think of what I spent on those two, the more I wish I had not grabbed one and just got a Switch.

  • @sazime You can just trade in that Wii-U, those things are pretty rare.

  • MK8 is OK, it's not as good as Sonic Allstar Racing transformed

  • @sazime I think, video card for PC is better investment. Both PS VR and Switch don't have much exclusives (which is sad since I own both), but PC can be used for almost every game worth playing.

I'm surprised Mario Kart is so low. It's arguably one of the best Wii U games not only for 2014, but for the Wii U as a whole. I'm not complaining, just surprised.

You can blame me... I somehow missed it when looking over the games of 2014. Mario Kart is one of those games that gets played when the family is all together, even by people that don’t typically play any video games. It’s a gorgeous, polished entry in a solid franchise, and I’m always happy to race a few tracks.

  • @billy Alright, I'm blaming you!

  • I totally forgot MK8 came out in 2014 >.<

  • It was a good game but just not good enough for my list, also Sonic Racing Transformed kinda spiled me in what a fun racer can provide for solo players, Mario Kart 8 was very basic in that aspect.

Mario Kart 8 I've only played a couple of tournaments on my brothers switch, cant say im super good at it and still got to learn the tracks. Yet I am enjoying the variations and "verticality" on some of the tracks.

  • Mario Kart 8 is one of the main reasons I bought a WiiU and although it might be heresy, I think it's the best Mario Kart ever created. My friends are always nostalgic for the N64 version, so it used to take some coaxing to switch to this version but when we did, whew, some real good times were had. I even had a blast with the online multiplayer!

  • Mario Kart 8 is great but just not in my personal top games for 2014. It was definitely an interesting experience trying to play online with friends and do a voice chat with them all at the same time.

  • It's a good game^

  • Not being a PC gamer, it's not surprising I didn't play Divinity. However, I believe it rivals, if not surpasses for some, the Witcher in terms of a fantasy RPG that has scope, depth, complexity, and full player freedom of customization and quest selection. With all the praise it's sequel got several months back, it's not surprising to see the original here. Now I know it released in 2014!

  • @brannox just fyi, it got a console release too, which is also great

For some reason I thought it was The Banner Saga (again) and yelled out "SURE! FINE! I'll play it then!" ..before realised it was Divinity now.. hehe.

I've always been more of a console gamer, hence I've missed many of the games that are PC "exclusive".

  • MK8 - Loved this game, just sadly haven't spent an awful lot of time with it. I'm content with this Wii U version as well. Racing games would rarely ever appear on my top 5/10 lists though as I just favour other genres.

Divinity: Original Sin - Fantastic game, one that I think everyone who likes RPG's should at least try. It was originally on my list actually, but I bumped it for something else. If it were a top 10 we had been asked to do, then this would definitely have been on it.

  • I would probably really dig Divinity but just haven't checked it out.

  • I haven't played Divinity either and I'll probably just play 2 when it comes out on consoles, but there's just been so many good traditional cRPGs lately, I don't have a lot of history with them but seeing them back in force is just great, just wish I had more time to check them out.
