The EZA Community Top 25 Best of 2014!

  • Looks like 2014 has much wider range of opinions. #3 has only 35 points from 40 voters, while in 2017 #3 had 72 points from 54 voters.

  • I really liked the US version of this game, but because Ubishit's absolutely uneccessary PAL-wide censorship I omitted the game from my list.

  • @ffff0 2017 had a lot of standouts, and i don't think the same can be said for 2014.

  • I never got into South Park, the toilet humour is something which I do find juvenile. There's a chance I might like some aspects of the game, but I haven't picked it up yet.

  • @bam541 Before I went to make my list I could only think of two or three 2014 games even worth mentioning and even after going down the list of potential GOTYs I still only had those two or three and a bunch of Wii U games that I guess I just forgot what year they came out.

  • I like South Park, but only in small doses, so I passed on Stick of Truth not because of gameplay but because of South Park overload. And with Stick of Truth being in development hell for as long as it was, it's good to see it succeed. And with three for three guess so far, I think that'll be it in guessing right. I DID think I left off a major game and sure enough, Shovel Knight should be revealed soon. I still think Wolfenstein is a possibility.

  • 2014 had an abundance of games which I'd consider "good". Stick of Truth is one of them, but I only played like 2 hours of it and then put it down. The South Park-style of humor and voices really grate on me. They have since I stopped watching season 1 of the show. It was not on my list.

  • I'm a fan of South Park as it has constantly evolved the way it tells stories and is extremely different from what it was when it came out and Stick of Truth is pretty good. That being said, it was cut from my list because it was an extremely short time that didn't leave much of an impact on me - I don't remember much of the game, just a select few moments, Canada probably being the highlight.

  • I played this and thought it was alright. Serviceable gameplay, but I thought it was a bit long and too heavy on fan service.

I have to say it looks great though. There's virtually no difference between its visuals and the show's, which is a real achievement.

    GT Review

  • Dang, and I was really hoping Jazzpunk and The Talos Principle would take the top spots.

  • Shovel Knight was such an easy number 1, from beggining to end I had a blast with all the three versions of it, easily one of my top 2D platformers ever.

  • Stick of Truth only barely squeezed past this for me, such an easy pick. Game just feels good to play, nothing tops that.

  • I didn't like Shovel Knight, I'm a little surprised it topped the list. I felt like I had already played it on a screen-by-screen level and it was proud of that.

It's definitely a confident game, and I hear the expansions develop it further---I haven't played those. Just not for me I guess.

  • I don't remember much about Wolfenstein: The New Order, so it didn't make into my list. Shovel Knight looks like an old game and that's a big no for me. Anyway, congratulations to the winners!

  • Here are my top 8 games from 2014 (#2 and #3 didn't make it into top 25):

    1. Dragon Age: Inquisition
    2. Watch Dogs
    3. Sunset Overdrive
    4. Child of Light
    5. Infamous: Second Son
    6. Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
    7. South Park: The Stick of Truth
    8. Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc

  • Yeeeeaaaaah! My #1 and #2 are #1 and #2! I'm a weird everyman!

I only wish I hag donated more to the Shovel Knight Kickstarter.

  • ShovelKnights release confused me. Man. Next one of these I'm going to take a much better look at the list. I effed up hard.

    *8 Drakengard 3
    *7 Freedom Wars
    *6 Tales of Xillia 2
    *5 Yumi's Odd Odyssey
    *4 Luftrausers
    *3 Kirby: Triple Deluxe
    *2 Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair
    *1 Sportsfriends

I barely got onto this list. Dang
