YOUR Desire Index

  • My index

    Cyberpunk 2077
    Ghost of Tsushima
    Sekiro
The Last of Us Part II
    Resident Evil 2 Remake
    Red Dead Redemption 2
    Control
    Spiderman
    Fallout 76
    The Elder Scrolls VI
    Halo Infinite
    Dragon Quest XI
    Kingdom Hearts III
    Anthem
    Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
    Devil May Cry 5
    Call of Duty IV
    Skull & Bones
    Team Sonic Racing
    Gears 5
    Babylon's Fall
    Pokémon: Let's Go

  • The ninth update saw one change as Fallout 76 squeaks ahead of Skull & Bones by 0.1. As I was tallying the averages, unless multiple add some crazy orders, it's becoming very clear much of the order is pretty set as the averages for all are barely moving. With that said, there are some pretty close intervals, not only Fallout and Skull & Bones and Sonic Team Racing is over Halo: Infinite by also 0.1. Babylon's Fall is just ahead of them while The Last of Us Part II is edging just slightly closer to Resident Evil 2 Remake.

  • @brannox Thanks for the thought, but I wasn't 100 % serious. You can of course update this the way you want, I'll just try and stay out of here then for a day or two.

  • @sentinel-beach If they don't revisit it, I'll update it. If they do, then I'll just have to decide then and leave a post saying one way or another. It won't happen for another day anyway.

from the games covered on the EZA Podcast

Oh, well that's way more boring since lots of my anticipated games right now aren't part of that such as Battletoads, Valkyria Chronicles 4, Dying Light 2, Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 + 2, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, and Manifold Garden in no particular order there.

Ignoring my actually most anticipated games, from that above limited list my EZA's Desire Index ordering would be:

    Ghost of Tsushima
    Babylon's Fall
    Death Stranding
    Devil May Cry V
    Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
    Kingdom Hearts III
    Halo: Infinite
Pokemon Let's Go Eevee & Pikachu
    Cyberpunk 2077
    Dreams
    Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
    Control
    Red Dead Redemption II
    Dragon Quest XI
    Forza Horizon 4
    Resident Evil 2 Remake
    Spider-Man
    cutoff line of actually caring
    Crackdown 3
    Fallout 76
The Last of Us Part II
    Sonic Team Racing
    Darksiders III
    Skull & Bones
    The Elder Scrolls VI
    Gears 5
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
    Shadow of the Tomb Raider
    Anthem

  • Here's my desire index. Putting RE2 at the top is probably the easiest "video game list-decision" I've ever had to make, even if this wasn't restricted to just the 10 games they choose for that episode.

    last updated 7/19/18

If I'm being honest, then I'm much more excited about my current top 5 than the rest. Additionally, only my current top 2 I feel are safe "locks" in the sense that I feel 100% confident that once I get the free time to play them, something else won't push them out.

That said, certain "unknowns" in my desired games below those 5 are bigger factors than outright apathy for them. So I end up relying on "baseline expectations" more. But I guess that's what the Desire Index surfaces in everyone, isn't it?

Being inexperienced in some series/genres/predecessors is also factor that I struggle to grapple with when ranking my "mids" below the top 5.

    1. Resident Evil 2 Remake
    2. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
    3. Babylon's Fall
    4. Ghost of Tsushima
    5. Cyberpunk 2077
    6. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
    7. Control
    8. Darksiders III
    9. Dragon Quest XI
    10. Devil May Cry 5
    11. Spider-Man
    12. Halo: Infinite
    13. Gears 5
    14. Shadow of the Tomb Raider
    15. Kingdom Hearts III
    16. Crackdown 3
    17. Death Stranding
    18. The Elder Scrolls VI
    19. Anthem
    20. Red Dead Redemption 2
    21. The Last of Us Part II
    22. Team Sonic Racing
    23. Forza Horizon 4
    24. Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! & Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee!
    25. Dreams
    26. Call of Duty: Black Ops IV
    27. Skull & Bones
    28. Fallout 76

  • I've got to say, I'm surprised at the love TLoU is getting. It's nice to see the interest in 2077 though.

we have not seen cyberpunk 2077 gameplay nor we dont know when it release. its only getting hype because its by CDPR

Im a fan of sci fi cyberpunk but CDPR are imo overrated developers. they make great world but lack in gameplay.

I don't rate CD much to be honest. The concept sells me at the moment though.

  • OK! Update 10! Babylon's Fall got a BIG push of recent support springing it up to sixth, barely edging out Fallout 76 by 0.1. But outside of that, there wasn't any other movement of note.

@Mbun Boring maybe, but it helps me with the upkeep. If everyone has the same amount, it's much easier for me to track and average. However, as I've touched on with Axel and Sentinel Beach, if the Allies don't cover the Index tonight, I'll open it up for all games from everyone to add to the lists already created.

    @Sheria May I ask why it's surprising?

    lot of things worry me.

its fully open world with driving. so expect some sort of boredom. the shooting like borderlands and bulletsponges enemies, should have full fledge male protagonist instead of customizable character. plus im no fan of romance system in these type of games. can you imagine it in original Deus Ex??

my biggest concern is fully open world.

  • @black-cell said in YOUR Desire Index:

No, I'm hyped because it's Cyberpunk.

  • @brannox said in YOUR Desire Index:

    @Sheria May I ask why it's surprising?

Oh gosh, number of things really. Ultimately though, it was just the trailer itself in combination with the original game itself. I'm surprised there was honestly much interest in another of that series.

  • @sheria Then that's just personal interest and not a holistic view of everyone else. Bummer, it didn't vibe for you, but not everything will for everyone. Thank you for responding!

  • @sheria The last two trailers have really bombed it for me, but I love the original so even though right now I'm not really hyped for it at all, I'm still holding out hope the final game is good.

  • Man, there's still a lot of cool games not on the list (Sekiro, Tsushima, DMC V, etc) and it's already very interesting to see all the lists here. Can't wait for the next addition to the index.

  • @brannox said in YOUR Desire Index:

Well of course, that goes for anything really. I've seen you admit to surprise to results on a few occasions as well though, I'm not sure why mine needs explaining.

  • @sheria The surprise I've expressed has always stemmed from a pre-established sentiment about certain games like Zelda, Dark Souls or Yakuza for example being a shared love and interest among many, but they be overtaken by others, whereas in this instance, and this instance alone, expressing surprise about The Last of Us Part II having considerable interest is something I was surprised by, not because you don't have interest, but because it's placement is the vibe I've gotten from many in my time here and that being: "Yeah it's alright, but there are other games I care more for."

Now, to open myself up for even more correction, and following my same train of thought, I WOULD be surprised if say Spiderman, Death Stranding, or Sekiro don't have a lot of high placement. This is because I've seen from many, not just a couple, be really high on those games. And personally, I only cursory interest in one: Death Stranding.

All of that long-windedness to say: It struck me as odd you expressed that it was surprising it has some desire when most lists here have it in the top three if not half, and it being the original being beloved by quite a bit of people. Granted, I might be skewed for this thread specifically because I'm keeping a full record of all lists, so I've got numbers staring back at me.

  • It would simply seem our "vibes" differ. I will say that I go by opinions far more than just what I see on this forum. There's no right or wrong here, it's just that its popularity, especially after THAT showing, surprised me.

  • @sheria I agree with you all the way to "THAT." If you are referring to the trailer, I thought it was totally fine. If you're referring to the presentation, then I agree the framing around it was atrocious. And I guess my confusion lies in what specifically about The Last of Us Part II you're referring to: the trailer or its presentation.

I, too go off more than the forums, however, I try to adjust what to expect here than say with my friends, or from EZA themselves.
