My Friend Pedro was the only game to have moved while The Missing and Desperados were introduced. However, all three are located near the bottom, so there wasn't any landmark change.
-
Updating my list because I forgot a big one, and others have moved around.
- Cyberpunk
- Spider-Man
- Kingdom Hearts 3
- Biomutant
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Ghosts of Tsushima
- Control
- Devil may cry V
- Dreams
- Anthem
- Trails of Cold Steel 3
- Soul Calibur 6
- Psychonauts 2
- Shenmue 3
- Death Stranding
- Final Fantasy VII Remake
- Beyond Good and Evil 2
-
Not really much movement, but Biomutant makes its surprising debut, because it's something I just realized wasn't on the list when I felt like it was.
-
Know I'm a bit late to the party, but am I still good making my own list and posting it here? :):)
-
@rarmstar Certainly! Just give a numbered order of all the games you desire, and I'll factor it in to the Master Index.
-
@brannox awesome - thank you!
Here we go...
- Cyberpunk 2077
- Spider-Man (pre-ordered)
- The Last of Us Part II
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Fallout 76
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
- Final Fantasy VII: Remake
- Dragon Quest XI
- Kingdom Hearts III
- Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee/Pikachu (pre-ordered)
- Fire Emblem: Three Houses
- Assassin's Creed Odyssey
- Yakuza Kiwami 2
- Resident Evil 2 Remake
- Shenmue III
- Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order
- Spyro: Reignited Trilogy
- Metroid Prime 4
- Death Stranding
- The Elder Scrolls VI
- Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
- Hitman 2
- Age of Empires IV
- Ooblets
As is often the case, some of my later picks are mostly driven by my desire the see certain allies play their favourite franchises and talk about them on Frame Trap, streams, etc!!
-
I finally feel like I can justifiably have an official number to an update, so here is number 10! First off, no game will ever have the full amount of desires as lists (as to be expected) but other slots are starting to empty out. Meaning there is not a game that has 17 nor 13 total desires in an Index of 18 lists.
As you can tell when I update after including a single new list, the more drastic action occurs the further you go down. That doesn’t mean other spots don’t have nice little jumps. This update’s movements are as follows:
Metroid Prime 4: +5 (From 26th to 21st)
Pokemon Let’s Go: +7 (From 39th to 32nd)
Fire Emblem: Three Houses: +13 (From 57th to 44th)
The Elder Scrolls VI: +14 (From 64th to 50th)
Ooblets: +18 (From 72nd to 54th)
Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey: +18 (From 77th to 59th)
Age of Empires IV: +21 (From 86th to 65th)
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order: +21 (From 90th to 65th)

- Trials Rising
- Darksiders 3
- Starlink: Battle for Atlas
Post Gamescom, two new entries coming in at the very bottom. I'd say I'm slightly interested in both games now enough to consider purchasing them at a later date if the consensus is good. Meanwhile, DMC 5 jumps from 9 to 6 if only because of motorcycle combat.
-
It's pretty interesting how a game can gain one desire and shoot up the rankings. Case and point: Darksiders III moves up 8 (From 31st to 23rd) and StarLink: Battle for Atlas leaps by 20 (From 84th to 64th).
-
@brannox That's something I've been meaning to ask: are rank placements only affected by the number of times a game shows up or does the ranking in individual lists count as well?
-
@smoothrunes As I said when we transitioned to the new system, instead of a game's individual placement on all lists being the primary deciding factor, now it's the amount of times it's nominated, REGARDLESS of how high or low it may be on the list.
HOWEVER, placement IS the first tiebreaker, and there are quite a few. So, a tie exists where both games have a highest desire. If one of those games in said tiebreaker has two highest as opposed to the other with just one, than the two highest desires deserves the spot.
Another hypothetical example: Say a tie exists where two games have three nominations, and the highest spot both have is.... let's say seventh. THEN it goes to whichever game has the next best placement between the two (so a game has ninth highest while the other is maybe thirteenth. So the game with the ninth wins the tiebreaker between three nominations, with a highest of seventh overall desire), and so on and so forth.
For everything that has only one nomination, that's where each individual has the biggest impact, as a game can have only one desire, but that desire may be actually a person's top pick. So it's at the top of the "One Entry" category, and the more games a person has on their list, and the lower a game is that is the only time it is nominated, the lower on the Master Index it goes.
In order to settle ties for that category, I have to make a judgment call, and it's the only time I do for two reasons: 1.) It's in the bottom 40ish games, so overall ranking doesn't carry as much weight the higher up the list goes and 2.) Many just leave their lists without comment or making a case why they are interested in said games (Which is TOTALLY fine. Reasoning is completely optional) and there are quite a few games I haven't heard of, so I do a google search and decide, "A gun to my head, I have to play one of these two or three or however many is in the tiebreaker, what is the one that I would try first? Then after that?" And on and on if necessary.
I hope this answers your question and potentially got ahead of a couple more. If you are confused about anything else, please let me know!

Updated my list. I added Insurgency Sandstorm (just found out it will release on PS4), then i bumped Ace Combat 7 and Shenmue 3 up.

Quick update. Cyberpunk gameplay reveal means it moves into the top 10. Still can't give it too much of a push cause no release window at all yet and it could easily be a 2020 game, so very far off still.
-
Updated my list. Cyberpunk 2077 looks so damn immersive, i'm so impressed by what they have shown. The Allies downplayed the combat when they talked about it but it looks super fun to me, and everything else looks top notch too. Can't wait to see the city at nighttime.

Donut County is out now, it can be removed from the Index.
-
@sentinel-beach I saw it's release was tomorrow, along with another game, so I was waiting to do both at the same time.
-
Yakuza Kiwami 2 (18th overall with 8 desires, three of which have it as second)
Donut County (34th overall with 4 desires, one of which has it at fifth)
The Walking Dead: The Final Season (56th overall with 2 desires, one of which has it at third)These games are playable to some degree and as such are now stricken from the Master Index
