The Naughty Dog Agenda

  • @iboshow Naughty Dog has gone broke from writing diverse characters into their games and not selling any copies of their horribly reviewed mistakes. We are all just sitting in here discussing how sad it is.

Can anyone give even a single prominent example of how "SJW" or "feminism" has had a negative impact on a game?

I see all this whining and complaining about how it has become so pervasive and is ruining games, yet even the video OP posted fails to raise even one example of how these elements have made the games a lesser experience, instead choosing to focus on how his personal politics conflict with that of certain developers within the company.

@Musou-Tensei What to people born between 1945 and 1964 have to do with anything, and why are they cancerous?
Take a break from 4chan my dude.

Not going into detail here but my signature should say it all, the amount of westren made games I purchase has been heavily reduced in the last few years since a certain group of people I can not name has forced themselves into it, imo they really soc, jus like the boomers who are also censorous af.
WIth the time more and more people will realize that this bs simpy doesn't make good games, especially not those you'd want to spend 60 bucks on, it happened in the comic industry, it will happen in the gaming industry.

Please ignore the typos, english is not my 1st language.

It's a shame to always see you so cautious all the time, I do get it though.

I'm not taking this into an argument because I know all too well where it will lead and it will naturally just result in a locked thread. As it stands, I found it to be an extremely interesting and well put together video, one that I wanted to share.

Its kinda sad developers has to spend budget on SJW and femenist elements rather than spent budget on good level design and gameplay.

This is ignorant and idiotic on so many levels.

  • And yes, can someone please answer @El-Shmiablo's question?

Can anyone give even a single prominent example of how "SJW" or "feminism" has had a negative impact on a game?

Because for all the beating around the bush and "subtle" accusations you guys are doing, I've yet to see a concrete example of this so-called agenda ruining a game. Unless the mere presence of women or homosexual characters is enough to ruin a game for you, in this case YOU are the problem.

@axel Does nobody else find it ironic that the loudest voices against “pandering" play games almost exclusively featuring and for the lewd anime girls?

  • @sheria That's what I have Twitter for, no need to be so cautious there

@El-Shmiablo Censerous, Boomers usually support the idea that violence in video games should be censored,, regardless of which political ideology they subscribe to. The others just want to censor everything that offends them, often those are white guilters on behalf of a minority group that isn't offended, like the fauxrage over Mario wearing a Sombrero. They actually unironically think "cultural appropriation" thing and bad, LUL. I will always vote aginst the interests of these people.

  • The video is stupid because Naughty Dog make 10/10 games and he agrees. Agenda's are pushed through every game.

  • @Sheria Funny how you completely ignored the well written and thought out post by @SabotageTheTruth. Maybe that's the "Sheria agenda": Posting garbage and not engage when it's being torn apart. People like you make me laugh, so thanks for that. :D

I don't even know where to start on this comment. What exactly do you mean by 'spending money on SJW' because they're including female characters or gay characters?

Do strong female leads or support characters bother you? If so why?

Do gay characters bother you? If so why?

Do you have any examples of where the inclusion of either have had a detrimental effect on the level design or gameplay? Some specific game titles would be nice if you do.

Does it make for bad games? Because even if you can argue that is the case there doesn't seem to any argument for thinking that this will decline or that it has let to failures, and tbh this just seems like a point of view that is very skewed towards your personal conception which I think we can agree is representative of a very niche audience.

  • I'll keep this relatively brief as I'm supposed to be sharing in some "good news" from my cousin.

    1. I don't feel like there is an agenda, at least not from triple a studios, Indies on the other hand more then likely.
    2. I feel there is a difference between Social Justice Advocates and Social Justice Warriors, that being that warriors end up hurting thier own cause and damage it's perception in the eyes of the public. Social Justice Warriors also tend to be completely insufferable as "The Cause" is seemingly the only thing that matters in thier life (and they'd probably be lost if they ever achieved it).
    3. I do feel that potential backlash from feminist has scared most devs and publishers away from developing or localizing various games (DoAX3, and Omega Labyrinth Z as brief examples, big titty anime games, but thier is a market for them)
    4. I have no issues with playing games with female characters, main or side characters, and depending on the game and it's scenario (or the case of ME1-3 voice actors) picking female characters.

I have few more, out of time. will reply when I can

You're, umm welcome? I can assure you I've ignored nothing written here though.

  • Have to admit it's a bit depressing to see some of the responses in the topic. Of course there is the standard complaints of having to be "cautious" and the topic will be locked which really just comes across that those users don't actually have anything constructive or interesting to say, just worried about showing their true colours.

Even though I think this topic has already run it's course, It's being left open for people to respond to posts. Stop with the digs being thrown at posters.

On the actual video, I watched it and @SabotageTheTruth pretty much nailed everything in the second post. It's very strange that the video doesn't actually have any in game examples to show that what Naughty Dog are doing has a detrimental effect on their games.

And just on a very strange point from the video, he mentions that the focus from the studio and media was the kiss. From what I saw, all the focus on the gameplay demo for TLOU2 was how violent and brutal the game was. The only thing I actually saw about the kiss was people saying how incredibly animated it was. It just kinda showed how narrow minded this person is being to me.

And probably like everyone else here, I waiting for someone to actually give a good example of how this is affecting games negatively cause all we're actually getting is the standard "These are not the games I want" which is fine I guess, but you can just ignore them, like how other people will ignore the games that those people like.

I think those that have been banned or locked out in the past have the most experience there. Not sure I've heard of locking a thread when conversation has run its course though.

Incorrect assumption though I'm afraid. I'd never be worried about showing my colours, especially about current PC nonsense.

  • If there's a discussion in here, you're gonna have to stop throwing around code words like "PC nonsense" and "SJW agenda" and say what you mean. If you're so comfortable in your beliefs, just say them out loud and own it.

Are you mad that Ellie is a woman? Are you mad that this woman character happens to be a lesbian, and is therefore not expressly created to sexually titillate you? Are you mad that she kills men? Does that bother you? What is the ACTUAL issue? Must all games and all developers cater to the tastes of you specifically? Let's have an honest talk and unpack aaaaallll the gross shit we're dancing around here.

    Spit it out!

  • @tokyoslim The issue is that women in the real world don't like them very much because they're socially inept so they go on forums ( their safe space where they don't have to speak to people face to face) to vent there frustrations because they need someone to blame for there failing. This may sound brutal but its so fucking transparent. Hope these lonely boys grow up to be real men one day. Their lives will be so much better & they can focus their anger on something more important.

  • I don't really have anything to add to the discussion (I watched the video but as someone who hasn't actually played any Naughty Dog games besides TLOU I can't really comment on them) but I find it kinda sad how everyone just keeps acting snarky and talking shit about each other instead of either trying to have a civil discussion or just leaving the thread.

  • That video was spot-on about the antagonistic name calling on both sides.

  • Banned

@hanabi There just isn't much discussion to be had.
Those who have tried to broaden the discussion are being ignored. No examples of negative impacts on games have been given. No legitimate complaints as to how feminism effects media in general are being presented.
The conversation seems one sided and slightly antagonistic because, well, we are presenting countet aguments and expecting a conversation and being rebutted with nothing more than vague shitposting about "PC nonsense" and the like.

When serious discussion comes from both sides, maybe we'll actually have a serious discussion.

    Until then...
