Nice! I'm so eager to find out just how crazy it will be. Hell, just being able to make my own cowboy is exciting enough.
Hopefully the update is not super extreme; I already had to purge enough to install the game in the first place.
-
Mostly I just look forward to character creation... not sure I'll play it much otherwise. But who knows.
-
The Allies are actually going to play this on tonight's group stream. Could end up being a dicy choice, if the beta doesn't work properly etc., but also a really interesting one if it does.
-
@sentinel-beach Considering they're kicking out Jackbox 5, I'm really disappointed.
-
@hazz3r Jones said that there were allies who will not be there, so it's not worth it, so RDO could be a good idea and save JB5 when they all be there to have full madness

Jackbox is honestly better for marathon streams and such. Plus, the versions aren't always that different from one another, and it feels like EZA has streamed that so many times already... I just hope the group stream tonight doesn't end up being character creation the whole time if it is really robust.

Seeing Jones play Online worked as a kinda neat tutorial of what to expect.
Here are Rockstar's own words:

Played for an hour, finished the tutorial and played one death match and one "battle royal" with bows, i don't have any thoughts at this time but it feels and plays very well.
I started making my character and half way i noticed that he resample Cricket from always sunny in philadelphia, so i renamed him Cricket and he is not a good guy.

So I've encountered a thing where my ammo is connected between all forms of online play, meaning that just playing a few rounds in matchmaking depletes me of all my ammo, and my only option is to go purchase more. Has anyone else encountered this? I sincerely hope this isn't what Rockstar intended, but I don't know.
-
@capnbobamous Yep that looks like its by design. What irks me is that i can hunt for hours on end and when i join a mission all my hard-earned pelts and such are gone. Lost to the ether.
It's a small gripe sure, but past the hard-to-earn money, the constant griefing, and the wonky shooting it is the only one I have. At least i expected most of those and I'm still having fun so for now its worth it, where I'll be in a couple of months? who knows.
-
@zrail Yeah so far it seems like a fun diversion with no real longevity. I'm enjoying my time with it, but I have no real motivation to play it for more than two hours. I also see no real point to the honor system, as I currently have experienced no consequence or benefit to either side of it.
-
Seems like the grind in this game is a bit of a problem.
By some of the calculations I've seen online, the grind here is actually worse than Battlefront II yet the general public seems rather silent? Guess it's that Rockstar cred at work.

They are on it apparently. Outrage has been there, but your right @SabotageTheTruth it has been surprisingly mild.
-
Do we have an EZA Posse yet?
I replied to Jones' message pretty quick, but I don't know how big Posse's can be and if he set one up yet.
-
@alex840 There are 2 crews on Rockstar Social Club. But I'm not sure about in-game. I think Jones said he was going to create a crew too but i don't know if he ever did.
-
He hasn't yet.
-
I played all the tutorial stuff and I'm not sure how much I'll actually play to be honest.
I played one round of some sort of team deathmatch and I honestly thought it was awful. Ignoring the bugs/glitches, it just wasn't fun at all.So I imagine the draw is mostly in PVE instead of PVP type stuff.
-
I played through the tutorial as well and a few missions after that.
I was heading into one of the towns to complete the next online story mission, but a group of players were harassing everyone who came by it.
I enjoyed the PVE free roam missions, but players in free roam are savage. I was hoping for some great RP, but I don't see that happening. Probably my fault for expecting to much.

I'm not defending it, but I think the difference is that this is a bonus online mode added to an already beefy game as opposed to the entire game itself in Battlefront II's case. Also, similar to Bethesda games being buggy, Rockstar games having pay to win online is nothing new, which further softens the blow, because most people are already expecting it.
