The Outer Worlds - (PC/PS4/XBO)
-
This looks cool. didnot expect obisidian to make anything other than top down cRPG.
looks better than fallout has ever been.
-
What surprised me most is that it's multi-platform. I wonder what the terms are for dedicating resources to it in their contract with Microsoft.
-
I'm gonna go full blackout on this one. I trust you, Obsidian.
-
@bam541 Obsidian has this and another unannounced game on contract before full Microsoft exclusivity kicks in.
-
@el-shmiablo I think you pinged the wrong person, so uhh @Hazz3r
-
Feel bad for Journey to the Savage Planet devs. Debuted a tonally similar trailer in the preshow.
-
Looks great, Obsidian has always delivered. Better than Fallout's ever been though? That's a tall order with Fallout 2 still stealing the show.

not a fan of top down CRPGs.
otherwise it also looks better than cyberpunk 2077 too.
-
Looks really awesome. Animations aren't this companies strong suit but its not bad. With that said, it looks a lot better than Fallout 76 and New Vegas which was their last game that wasn't Pillars or South Park.
Very excited.
-
@dipset animations might not be their strong suit, but I've always preferred their style to the stop and zoom in to faces that Bethesda has in their games.
I am amazingly excited for this. So happy this is coming to PS4 and wasn't impacted by the Microsoft buyout.
-
this could be best FPS/RPG hybrid since Deus Ex 1 and System shock 2. more i research about it. more i hype for it.
-
The trailer felt good, gave me Fallout Vegas meets Rage in space vibes. I love dystopian worlds, so this should be interesting.
-
Game Informer's exclusive coverage of this game. I recommend at least watching the 131 rapid fire questions, it's very entertaining.

@bam541 definitively a good watch, I'm very interested in seeing how this one turns out, thought knowing Obsidian there's no concern.
-
@bam541 Love me some rapid Q&A
-
I can't wait for this game. 2019 baby!
The rapid fire questions were great. The gun combat looks a little speedy and not particularly interesting. What helps Fallout's janky combat is the sheer amount of gore. I'd like some of that. However, they say you don't even have to fight so who knows. I'll probably pay melee to spice it up.

im more interested in this than cyberpunk. although gunplay need work. no matter how much they are calling it RPG. there will be tons and tons of shooting. its FPS like cyberpunk is.
-
Well, FPS-RPG but it will also have melee combat. They say it in their interviews with GI. Pure melee was viable in Fallout New Vegas so I'm into that.
-
I better be able to charisma my way through this whole fucker. That is how I try to play all these types of games. Smooth talk your way to success. Guns are for weenies.
-
@el-shmiablo Check out some of the features GI has put out about the game. Not sure you'll be able to be completely nonviolent, but it sounds like the developers want to emphasize the fact that role playing shouldn't be geared towards becoming a god-like powerhouse
