Tackle the backlog - 12 in 12 2019

  • Would I like Undead Nightmare if I didn't like Red Dead? I was lent the full edition of the game, but I honestly I was so tired of the game by the end that I didn't even bother with it at the time.

  • @bard91 Did you not like it because of the gameplay or story? If it was story then I would say yes, but if it was gameplay then probably no.

  • @capnbobamous sounds like a skip then, I never enjoyed the gameplay in the game and the mission design was incredibly boring to me.

  • @bard91 If I remember correctly (and I might not), the mission structure is a lot looser than the base game.

  • @capnbobamous I started last night but decided to put it aside for a while. The 2 missions I played were basically hordes.

  • @e_zed_eh_intern Yeah I remember it having a "go here and kill a bunch of zombies" structure for the majority of the game. The main appeal of it is the story and the side-quests. It definitely tunes into the wacky side of Rockstar.

  • @binarymelon I finished up RotTR over the weekend. I really enjoyed it, but at the end really got tired of the combat encounters. I really enjoyed the casual stealth encounters though. Headshots with the bow and climbing around trees was great. I really feel like the need for video game designers to ramp up difficulty as a game progresses is something that needs to die. Not that it can't happen, just that it shouldn't be a requirement.

  • Still at 4/12, but I finished 2 games that weren't on my original list (The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D and Okami HD), so I may swap them out retroactively!

Started Luigi's Mansion over the weekend and will probably finish it soon, so that's a freebie.

I might get to The Wonderful 101 next!

  • Still en route for 12 in 12. Just finished Undertale. Prob gonna be my only backlog game in March.

  • The way I've been playing through Okami HD makes me think that I'll finish it sometime next month. It's a really good game, but there's a certain vibe to it that makes me feel sleepy. I can't play it more than 2 hours at a time.

  • I think I should switch my Uncharted 4 playthrough in my list for My Hero One's Justice. I've been mostly playing around the versus mode with friends, so there's still a lot of stuff to do in it (I'm planning to platinum it, it looks quite easy). It's weird having a replay session as a backlog anyway.

    Okami HD
    HZD The Frozen Wilds
    Persona 4
    Shenmue II
    Kingdom Come Deliverance
    Nier Automata
    Hollow Knight
    Life is Strange
    Wasteland 2
Life is Strange: Before the Storm
    My Hero One's Justice

  • And I can take Prey of the list.

Prey is a good game, maybe better than what I thought of it, certainly one that deserves more attention that what it got, however given how frustrating it was at times, the ocassional buginess, and specially how annoying the final sections of the game were to play, it keeps it from being a game I can say I thoroughly enjoy, BUT it is a game I can easily recommend.

And with that I have three games out of my list, which given how much time I'll have to put to catch up with the Trails franchise I'm glad I was pretty conservative with the length of games I choose.

    Pony Island 7/10
    West of Loathing
    Alan Wake
    Prey 8/10
    Alice Madness Returns
    D4 Dark Dreams Don't Die
    Deadly Premonition
    Grim Fandango
    Mark of the Ninja
    Trails in the Sky 9/10
    The Silver Case
