The PS5 News and Info Thread

I was checking out the Digital Foundry info on Xbox's backwards compatibility performance increases and it looks pretty impressive for certain games. Has there been any info on how playing PS4 games on PS5 will impact performance? I saw an article on Push Square saying that 'certain games' will see improvements, but I imagine there aren't any preview units out there doing this sort of testing yet. Watching that Final Fantasy XV loading screen be done in ten seconds while running at 60fps was pretty cool though.
It sounds like if it works on PS5 similar to how it does on Series X, it will largely be reliant on how many options the game has in the first place to run, as well as if it's installed on the SSD. So regardless of if it runs at a better frame rate, loading times at least will likely be better all around.

I feel like the only person on Twitter that never really liked the og Peter face and likes this update better. The original was just very... bland IMO.
Still liked the game, just never felt like Peter to me.

@happygaming
I believe a store page is about to launch, there will apparently be a PS5 boost mode according to it
-
-
That reminds me, why does a ~50 year old voice Peter Parker?
-
@miserableperson I haven't played the game, but Yuri is a really good voice actor.
-
I believe a new batch of Greatest Hits games are about to get announced, Monster Hunter World is showing up with a Greatest Hits label on the PSN store
-
@dmcmaster Probably all 18 of the games they are giving people with PS Plus next month are going to be given that label.
-
@demonpirate I haven't either, just a little strange imo.

@el-shmiablo said in The PS5 News and Info Thread:
The first 15 minutes of ASM2 is the best Spidey dedicated to film.
I want to dispute you on this, but it requires me to re-watch that movie again since I have erased most of it in my mind... So I'll just trust you on this one, lol.

@el-shmiablo
Probably

TASM2 is the fifth SM movie from all of them. About the game: I said in another thread, it feels unnecessary but 60 fps looks so good. Still, if I'll ever get it, I won't buy it with Miles and wait for seperate version and discount too because I just %100 the game and the DLCs.

Not too long ago, PlayStation Japan said that some Japanese content creators will get to try out the PS5, and it seems that they will be releasing some stuff soon.
-
Well, that's alarming...
https://www.gamesradar.com/if-this-leak-is-true-the-ps5-offers-664gb-of-usable-storage-space/
-
@scotty That sounds roughly correct. That would mean the OS/System takes up 161GB.
Somewhere around 3/4 the size of the Series X.
-
-
@tokyoslim The OS is 102GB
-
@iboshow Doesn't always account for all the space it requires. That's why I said OS/System and not simply OS. The systems reserve unusable partition space for things like updates, and share files. If the numbers in that screenshot are correct, it's allocated 161GB. We know the Series X will allocate around 200GB.

The first impressions are cautiously optimistic about the console's noise levels. Or the lack of them, in this case.

@sentinel-beach It just needs to not be Pro insane noise levels and I'm fine.
