I'd be more supportive for a translated port though, that's the official game we deserved.
I don't trust or really want remakes. Then good news for you, they also released that as part of a collection, and it is out now:
Nice! the physical edition launches August 27 though, so I'll wait for that.

@sacred-arfaid But there's both. The original game we never got as part of the collection, and a 3D remake of that game coming next year.
I just bought the Collection, need to put my money where my mouth is after hoping for this game for years. Very excited to finally play the sequel to one of my favourite games ever, even though it may not have aged so well.

The collection is only on Switch.

@sacred-arfaid Buy a Switch.

Massive info dump on Trials of Mana: https://gematsu.com/2019/11/trials-of-mana-details-characters-classes-prologues-and-map-mechanics
I love the way the game looks, seems both faithful and modern, on par with Dragon Quest XI in some ways. They put way more effort into this than Secret of Mana, it's nice to see!
And damn that artwork is gorgeous!

Looks like they're revamping many mechanics while keeping some of the original intent, very cool to see that so much effort is being put into this remake. I hope it pays off for them, I'm worried it will get drowned under all the massive March-April releases. Even I'm not sure I'll pick it up at launch even though I'm (supposedly) a fan of the series.
And look at that art style and that UI, so clean and gorgeous! I honestly think it looks just as good as Dragon Quest XI.

I'm not sure people are ready for just how absurd some of these class change costumes are gonna get, lol. Looking at you, Fenrir Knight.
-
Looks (and sounds) awesome. I really wish it had co-op though, it would be a no-brainer day one buy if it did. Now we'll see if I'm still in the middle of FF7 or RE3, it might have to wait.

There will be a new post-game episode, with 2 new classes for each character. They're really going all out on this one!
Also, a demo will be out on March 18th, featuring the start of the game and with progress transferable in the full game. I can only find that announcement in Japanese though so not clear if the demo is also coming to the West.

Reviews are out: https://opencritic.com/game/9264/trials-of-mana
76, with 19 reviews, it shouldn't move too much. That's pretty much what I expected.
I've been playing the demo this week and it looks lovely, the combat feels good, the music is perfectly re-orchestrated. The dialog aged terribly though, and the voice acting is cringey.
It won't make headlines, but it's comfort food and I'm in the mood for that right now, I'll probably pick it up!

I played the demo the other week and had a good time with it. Looking forward to making a purchase once I'm past Bloodborne, Persona 5, XCOM: Chimera Squad, and FF7R...

Trials of Mana has sold 1 million copies worldwide. Not a huuuuge accomplishment for a JRPG, but quite encouraging for the series.
I feel like they found a good formula with Trials, and I'd love for them to work on an original sequel now, hopefully with co-op, the main missing ingredient.
-
I'm still planning to buy it. I loved the demo, I just haven't gotten my backlog into a state to justify picking it up.

I own this on both Switch and PS4 (bought PS4 version, got busy at work and saw the Switch version on sale forgetting i have it already) and have yet to start either
