The Game Awards 2019

  • I'll be happy if Sekiro or Control wins. Outer Worlds, I don't think it has a chance. And Death Stranding I don't think it deserves, though I think it's a good game. But the internet would go wild.

Outer Wilds I want it to get as many awards as possible.

  • Just dawned on me but we might see a new NMH3 trailer, especially after seeing this

  • The more I play The Outer Worlds the more I think that it’s just a super solid RPG but not GOTY. Definitely like the stories it’s offering up, but I’m not edge of my seat gripped and I’m not in a rush to pour over every building looking for all of the loot either.

  • I think the nice thing about Outer Worlds is that you can look everywhere and it opens up extra character lore and story options, not just loot.
I got a laugh out of a friend of mine being like "I went with option A because person A is an upstanding leader and he's just trying to help his people!" and I was like... "ah, so I take it you didn't find out he's a cold blooded murdering liar who's been manipulating you?"
"what? NOOOO?! So you went with option B?"
"Actually, I went with option C"
"What was option C? I never saw it"

The difference was just some random terminal login in a completely unrelated side mission that I did that opened up a quest line that my friend never even saw.

I will say though that The Outer Worlds is the only one of those games I've finished. Sekiro I barely started and never went back to. Control I'm like 3/4 of the way through, haven't played RE2. Just got Death Stranding.... well, I acquired Death Stranding. I have like 5 hours in it and I'm not sure I get it yet. :)

    Don't have a switch.

  • Some recent things I've heard might be announced at TGA.
Something related to Insomniac Resistance (collection? )
New 2.5D Castlevania, apparently tied in with the Netflix show and featuring it's cast.

  • @dmcmaster

2nd one is a nice addition for PS4's last cycle I think.

I'm almost sure that it will find more audience than it's original time.

  • We already knew he joined the dark side

  • Omg all of the replies say "the dark prince of nerd media"

Kyle went too far with that bit ahahaha

  • He's back, heard a rumor he was returning but this conforms it. Allegedly also announcing a Xbox game coming to Switch.

  • Just remembered that rumor from around E3 that said Ori, Super Lucky's Tale, Banjo in Smash and Halo MCC were coming to Switch, and we've got 3 of the 4.

  • The Wolf Among Us 2 is apparently happening, also some kind of enhanced edition of the Telltale Batman games

  • I don't think any announcement will excite me besides GoT's gameplay video but I'll probably watch it with the Allies anyway. If Keighley didn't deny new Arkham game I would be more excited for it.

  • I have a very strong feeling we might see another trailer for Zelda BOTW 2 tomorrow during the awards.

Zelda has been showing up at the game awards ever since 2014 and the first BOTW was used by Nintendo to really sell the Switch after poor sales figures of the Wii U, all the attention will be on the PS5 and the Nextbox in 2020 and Nintendo will want something major to help keep the attention on the Switch. something major like i dunno.....another Zelda game???

  • @dmcmaster Wolf Among us 2 yay
Telltale Batman barf. Some of Telltale's worst work imo. Though hopefully they do "enhance" the game, since it was a borderline slideshow even on the Pro.

  • 2.5 hours to go and no major leaks.

Either the ninjas are swarming, or all we're going to get is an awards show... XD

  • I really want to see some new and exciting games. Like out of nowhere!

  • Mario, Zelda or GTA, I will probably squeak. Metroid, my neighbours will file a noise complaint.

  • @oscillator
I've heard one convincing rumor regarding Batman, mostly that it's not Called Batman: Arkham Legacy but Batman Beyond Arkham: Legacies.
Thing mostly hinged on the fact that WB Montreal worked on a version of Gotham for a canceled Suicide Squad game, and a version of Gotham for a canceled Damian Wayne Batman Beyond game.
Instead of letting all that work go to waste combine it into one game. The "Suicide Squad " version of Gotham for the original Bat-Family post Knight, with the "Beyond " version having Terry (hopefully) collecting age old clues and case files trying to find out what happened to the Bat family 30-40 odd years prior.

Sounds like a wishlist thing, but damn do I want it to be real.

  • Can't believe Death Stranding won best Esports coach
