Guess the Opencritic 2020


  • Hey all, this is pretty much the same thing as last year except now we are using Opencritic instead of Metacritic. It makes it much easier for me to tally the votes that way. For those unaware,in this thread we guess the Opencritic scores for some of the years biggest games! The rules are as follows:

    1. You are to guess the Opencritic score for each game listed. You may also guess a delay, or even a cancellation if you think it is likely.
    2. You can't guess both a score and delay for the same game.
    3. While you don't have to do every single game, you probably should. Just a simple guess could get you some good points.

    I'm still working on tallying all the scores for last year's game, so I'll try to get that up within the next couple days.

    Unfortunately I did not feel comfortable adding any of Ubisoft's titles as they were all delayed to the 2020-21 fiscal year, meaning they aren't officially slated for this year. Also, as much as I would like to add Biomutant for the third year in a row, it is still officially slated for 2019, which, well, disqualifies it from this game.

    Scoring System:

    Exact Score = 12 points
    1 point off = 9 Points
    2 points off = 8 Points
    3 points off = 7 Points
    4 points off = 6 Points
    5 points off = 5 Points
    6 points off = 4 Points
    7 points off = 3 Points
    8 points off = 2 Points
    9 points off = 1 Point
    Game is delayed or cancelled without guessing that = 0 Points
    Guess a delay = 5 Points
    Guess a cancellation = 10 points

    I hate betting low on Halo because I have some faith, but at the same time, 343 as an adept studio is still entirely unproven to me. By taking on Halo, they've essentially taken it in no direction up to this point. Added some mainstream features like customization, lots of sprinting, loadouts, simpler maps. They've been so safe an inoffensive with Halo that they've inadvertently become generic and many people looked away.

    I hope they reel it in but I'm doubtful. I guessed 82 but I'm hoping for a 99...

  • @dipset I like that you think 82 is low.
    Meanwhile having drafted this game I would be thrilled if it got an 82..... or just that it comes out this year.
