    Thread concept:

The basic idea is to list new games that you are interested in, as well as games you are potentially curious about or want to give wider attention to. You can briefly describe them or ask other people to help fill you in. The hope is that regular threads like these can act as a collective filter/discovery mechanism to help people decide what is worth checking out.

"New games" means any new title that is being released or ported this month in any capacity (not "backlogs/what you are playing this month"). The angle here is sharing your anticipation and promoting game discovery (as opposed to sharing comments about a first playthrough in progress - that belongs elsewhere).

    .

    • If you want a handy list that covers most of the major upcoming games of the month, here's a couple text lists of upcoming games:

Feel free to post other lists or list videos of upcoming releases that you find useful.

    • Final request: If you are the first person to mention a game please provide (at minimum) a short sentence description. (If it is a very big AAA release though, then don't worry about it.) This is a good convention that makes the thread more useful as a discovery mechanism, and especially helps out anyone who doesn't follow the news as closely as you.

  • February is quite a quiet month really.

Taking a look at the list of releases online I can only say that Dreams (a game about creating games) and the Switch release of DMC3 (the third game in the action series Devil May Cry originally released during the sixth generation of consoles) stand out to me.

  • Metro Exodus. Sam's Story DLC. Got a surprises release date announcement last week for this. February was looking pretty barren for me. So this is something I'm going to savour.

  • Darksiders Genesis comes to consoles on February 14th. A spin-off for the main series, the game got favourable reviews on PC in December. Hack and slash / Diablo like looter from top down perspective. Developed by Airship Syndicate who made the Battle Chasers: Nightwar a few years back, a surprisingly satisfying western rpg, that one.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses – Cindered Shadows arrives February 13th.

February, much like January I'll be playing mostly backlog games. I think I'll wait for Dreams on the PS5 so by then it will have more content and run better than my base PS4.

Since the stuff I was after got delayed, there is only 1 thing really that I'm after this month.

    Darksiders: Genesis.
I'm a big fan of the series and this game seem to be in a diablo-esk style which I really cant say no to either!
