@Michster They made a good platformer recently, now it's time for a new 3D game. Ratchet and Clank and Yooka Laylee were hyped for a while, would not knock them trying to get in on that. I have faith. Just keep the rabbids out of it.

I think the rabbids died out along with the wii. Almost forgot about Grow home, yes! Maybe...Let's hope for the best. :)

  • I'm hoping for a new Rayman too. 2D or 3D would be fine as long as it's good.

  • Really looking forward to getting my hands on For Honor. Hopefully they'll release a demo or beta soon ;)

  • This was probably the most fun and laid back conference this year so far :) Here are some highlights for me:

    1. Star Trek Bridge Crew VR - As a massive Star Trek fan, I want to play this even if the gameplay is mediocre or outright bad. From the brief gameplay they did show, it looks like an arcade game you might play in a theme park. But I still NEED to play this! As kids, we used to play Star Trek in our living rooms and this is a dream come true for a Trek fan like me. Although I am a bit scared the gameplay won't be that great :astonished: Maybe they improve it over time! :boom: :rocket:

    Star Trek Bridge Crew VR

    2. The Fractured But Whole - Loving the DC, Marvel and MCU references throughout the shown gameplay. And the interview part was REALLY laid back and casual. Loved that :)

    The Fractured But Whole

    3. Steep - This is a massive surprise just like Star Trek. The base jumping looks very zen and just plain fun to play. I just NEED to play this in VR. Looks like I'm getting a VR device soon if they confirm this for VR...

    BONUS THOUGHTS:

    3. Trials of the Blood Dragon looks like just a ton of fun. Definitely something to pick to up over the summer :beach_umbrella:

    Trials of the Blood Dragon

Watch Dogs - Feels very similar to the original but I am looking forward to seeing how they make fun of the Silicon Valley startup zeitgeist and visually recreate the Bay Area :) And I really liked the fact that you might now have music and radio like in GTA, although the part when he put in earbuds in the gameplay video might just have been a pre-scripted thing.

For Honor - Not as impressive as last year but still a solid gameplay video. I wonder if the maps will have several objectives to occupy (like landing with the ships in the beginning of the trailer) or getting get a battering ram somewhere like in Overwatch game modes.

  • There's not much I can add really. Great conference. Sure it had some lulls but in general, lots of good trailers, gameplay and reveals. Really impressed.

For Honor, Steep and South Park.. really tempted to pick them all up.

  • Nothing wowed me, nothing. South Park was funny, I'll probably check it out but it's not like we didn't expect it.

Never liked ghost recon, and that staged gameplay showcase was extremely boring, Watch dogs 2 looks identical to the original watch dogs, so apparently they're arrogant enough to think nothing needed to be changed.

I won't watch the ass creed movie, trials? Nah. Steep? Nah. I'd rather see a new SSX. For Honor? Could be cool but I don't trust Ubisoft with anything multiplayer these days, Star Trek VR? Yeah...not getting suckered into VR for games that look like mid 90s PC games.

Division DLC would've mattered more had the game not totally bottomed out a month ago, there is NOTHING that will bring me back to that game.

Did I miss anything? I mean no rayman, no prince of persia...yawn.

The conference also went on WAY too long. But at least it was better than EA's conference, they had plenty of gameplay to show regardless if you liked their games or not.

  • Second weakest conference so far. The pacing was pretty off.

I like South Park and For Honor. Watchdogs 2 would've been so much better if the characters weren't so tryhard (seriously, that character Wretch with the digital eye goggles was a bit much).

Massively dissapointed with the Blood Dragon Trials announcement. Seriously, this is not what the fans of Blood Dragon wants. Ubi keeps giving us Valley of the Yeti, Farcry Primal... everything but Blood Dragon 2 and then give us... this? Seriously, what were they thinking?

  • Fun time, For Honor looks soooo good!

  • Fun conference to watch, interesting games aswell! 4/5.

  • @ZyloWolfBane Only tried the Division beta and it felt unfinished to me. What turned you off the Division?

And yeah, a new SSX would be fun :) Maybe something retor like Tricky but set in the 90s could be a good direction. What do you think?

I played the living shit out of the division for a straight week, got my platinum. And I was about to quit playing, but then on my first "Heroic" dungeon run I met a couple of guys who've quickly become my best online friends, we went on to play the game for nearly a month solid, maxed out on Dark Zone (Yes max level in DZ) had all the good loot.

But right about the time incursions came out, they dropped the ball, so many glitches, people hiding in walls, exploiting to have OHKO damage, dropping their manhunt status by hiding in the floor, eventually you couldn't get a group with people to do the "End game" content unless you were glitching/exploiting to win, NOBODY wanted to play legit.

I added probably 25-30 people to play with and ALL of them quit as soon as some of those exploits were patched out, but people still spend all their time finding new ones, Dark Zone is straight up unplayable, the lag, disconnections and overall lack of communication with the developers turned me off.

Sold it and I won't look back. Which is a shame, it started really REALLY strong, and I was skeptical like everyone else at first, and was really happy with it.

  • @ZyloWolfBane Shame, I once had high hopes for Division but hearing about massive player drops and bad experiences like the one you just shared aren't good news for the game. I wonder if they make it into Year Two :(

The other issue was their stance on people who're exploiting, they want to ban people for doing it. Originally it was 3 strikes, now they'e shifted to one strike and you're banned.

I don't think that's cool, I'd never MYSELF do anything that would get me banned but just the idea that you want to punish people for doing things that YOU left within the game long enough to become a well known exploit is YOUR fault, they aren't using 3rd party programs to hack and cheat, these are loopholes within the game's own programming.

    That's totally unfair.

  • @ZyloWolfBane Wait, so they are punishing people for using bugs/exploits as opposed to people using hacking tools? :(

Oh they're banning anyone who exploits or hacks, but it's ridiculous that they carry the same consequences.

  • This was like a roller coaster that kept going UP and DOWN. For Honor and South Park stole the show but everything else felt really "meh". Watch Dogs 2 looked okay but that dialogue was awful and Steep just isn't my cup of Jones (although in VR in could be amazing).

And Ubi really needs to drop the whole fake multiplayer demos. I loved the old Ghost Recon games and even the newer ones were pretty fun, but it has been such a bummer of how they've presented Wildlands so far. =P

    Presentation: 3/5
    Huber Reactions: All The Stars

  • Most likely not buying any of the games shown during this conference, except maybe South Park, but the whole thing was a blast. That intro was 100% false signalling, though perhaps also the most entertaining if you're into trainwrecks, but I was laughing the whole way through. Hats off to Ubi's event coordinator.
