Persona 5 Strikers- Switch, PS4 & PC

About freaking time if I'm honest, but at least it is good to see they really are paying more attention to PC, it is likely that Royal won't be too far behind.
And btw the Switch version is apparently a very significant downgrade, close to unplayable I've heard.
-
@bard91 Demo seemed fine, but really they have got to learn to stop making Musous on Switch.
-
@bard91 if by unplayable you mean the Switch version won't have as good graphics as the PS4 and PC versions
then ok. no shit.
-
@bard91
Switch version seemed fine from what I played of it
-
@dmcmaster nah it's not fine unless it's played on the most expensive and powerful PC in the world.
otherwise the games unplayable. everyone knows that.
-
I'm pretty excited for this. Haven't played a musou game in ages though. I'm really hoping that the story content is good, I just want to have fun with the gang again. Also, does this have any P5R stuff? Looks like it's a straight continuation of the OG version.
-
@yoshi You know that some people are adverse to low framerates, right?
Personally I have trouble going from playing something at 60 frames per second then playing it or something else at 30 or less. It feels much too choppy and unresponsive.

we know. you always make sure to remind us.
-
@yoshi You should really stop trying to bait arguments. I didn't even mention the framerate of the game, but you made snide, sarcastic remarks about how anything less than a monster PC was unplayable.
Something wrong dude? Genuine question. You seem much more bitter and angry than usual.
-
@bam541 I've purposefully avoided learning too much, but from what I've read from other comments, this is a sequel to Royal specifically, so it leads me to think it does make some reference to the things added to P5R, can't say how much though.
-
It looks pretty sweet actually. I remember in the years following Persona 4, fans complained about all of the milking Atlus did, but I don't mind this kind of game if it adds new story stuff which it seems to be doing.
I'm trying to avoid investing more into PS4 though because of my inevitable PS5 upgrade, but no way I'm getting this on Switch after playing Hyrule Warriors demo.
-
@dipset Persona 4 Arena is awesome. Dumb story, great gameplay.
-
@bard91
It is a sequel, although I'd say it more related to P5 vanilla. Then again I played it in Japanese so I no doubt missed alot of stuff.That said I'd say this does run better then Age of Calamity, can't why though.
Will say P5R and Calamity are probably the 2 best Warrior's games made, probably because the smaller cast forces them to make each character unique and interesting then the regular Warrior's title
-
@e_zed_eh_intern hey now P4 Arena's story may not be great but it had some pretty tasty bits and some decent character moments, the main thing that dragged it back was that it was pretty much a very text heavy story like a visual novel with odd fights in between.
But yeah as a big fan of the franchise this approach of sequels exploring different gameplay styles is something I'm way in favor of.
-
@bard91
Hopefully P5 Arena takes some cues from DBFZ or Guilty Gears story mode
-
@dmcmaster I think they are well aware of the issues their storytelling had in P4A and Dancing all night, so at the very least I wouldn't expect any future spinoffs to be as unbalanced and text heavy.
-
@bard91 Yeah, as somebody who doesn't like anime or visual novels or the touchy feely Persona stuff, it was absolutely not for me. If they could run it all together like a Mortal Kombat story mode, I might be more inclined to jump in.
