    This is the place!

    Thread concept:

The basic idea is to list new games that you are interested in, as well as games you are potentially curious about or want to give wider attention to. You can briefly describe them or ask other people to help fill you in. The hope is that regular threads like these can act as a collective filter/discovery mechanism to help people decide what is worth checking out.

"New games" means any new title that is being released or ported this month in any capacity (not "backlogs/what you are playing this month"). The angle here is sharing your anticipation and promoting game discovery (as opposed to sharing comments about a first playthrough in progress - that belongs elsewhere).

    • If you want a handy list that covers most of the major upcoming games of the month, here's a couple text lists of upcoming games:

Feel free to post other lists or list videos of upcoming releases that you find useful.

    • Final request: If you are the first person to mention a game please provide (at minimum) a short sentence description. (If it is a very big AAA release though, then don't worry about it.) This is a good convention that makes the thread more useful as a discovery mechanism, and especially helps out anyone who doesn't follow the news as closely as you.

  • If I get any new games this month, it's probably only Persona 5 Strikers, coming February 23rd. The story is set after the events of Persona 5 (which is the main draw of the game for me), but it's a musou game now. I have enjoyed musou games in the past but I haven't played any in the last 7 years, so that's kinda exciting. I'm also excited to hear some new P5 style music.

Now it's time. Little Nightmares II coming February 11th.

Between this, The Medium and Resident Evil Village there are lots of October vibes all of the sudden, but I'm all for it.

  • Also, I just noticed that Speed Limit is releasing in February 17th. This a crazy looking indie game that was shown a while back during the barrage of showcases in mid 2020. It's an action game with not only sidescrolling platforming parts, but also top-down, isometric and SNES 3D-style vehicle parts, and it looks chaotic as heck.

  • For me there's only Little Nightmares II to get excited about this month.

Destruction AllStars looks fun but I won't be able to play it until I get a PS5.
Persona 5 Strikers also looks great if you're into Persona 5, but I have yet to play it.
Bravely Default 2 has a lot of work to do to win me over.

    So that's about it!

  • Want to get 3D World but I'll have to do some research for this one as I don't know if the main game is that good as a solo experience. But I'm getting to that point where Gamepass will be my main source of gaming unless there's something I absolutely want to play elsewhere. Little Nightmares II I'll keep an eye on as I've enjoyed the original.

  • My top three are:

    The Little Nightmares II
    Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
    Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood
