Sports Game Soundtracks
-
I used to love playing sports games when I was younger. My parents would buy me NHL 2003, Madden NFL 2003, NBA Live 2003, FIFA 2003, NHL 2004 among others and instead of playing them I'd set the A.I against each other in tournaments. Anyway what has stuck to me was their licensed soundtracks. I really love the NHL 2003 and NHL 2004 soundtracks in particular-they really have some great tunes in them. Notable standouts to me include Jimmy Eat World's Sweetness, Brand New's The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows, Adema's Co-Dependant, Deftones' Minerva and many others. What sports videogame soundtracks have you enjoyed over the years?

Oh man this is the thread I've been waiting for. I used to play so many sports games.
It's not my favourite song but I have to point out that ever since "Sweetness" appeared in NHL 2003, I've never gone to a hockey game live where the DJ didn't play it. It's just become synonymous with hockey.
Same goes for "Take Me Out" by Franz Ferdinand from Madden 2005. I've heard this song played at every single football game since.
Phat Planet - Leftfield from F1 2000
Youtube Video19-2000 (Soulchild Remix) - Gorillaz from FIFA 2002
Youtube VideoLittle Girl - Death From Above 1979 from Tony Hawk's American Wasteland
Youtube VideoI learned about DFA from this game and I've replayed this album for years upon years. Seen them like 3 times in 2012-2014 right before they released new music after a decade long hiatus.

Sweetness by Jimmy Eat World might be the best licensed sports videogame track of all time:
