Videogame Commercials

There are so many videogame commercials out there-some are annoying and dire, some are amazing-feel free to leave your favourites and I'll kick things off with this doozy:

Not really a commercial, but might as well be. One of my favorite moments from Final Fantasy XV has to be
the Cup Noodle implementation and quest
Gladio voicing it makes it even better.
“I’ll never forget my first time.”

@scotty meh. i was commenting on the uncharted news they were talking about. the news thread seems more appropriate cause commericial itself wasn't amazing or anything
-
I forgot about Dear PlayStation / It Only Does Everything. I just remember these ads playing all the time during Blue Jays games and the 2010s Blue Jays players were always on the cover of the Canadian versions of MLB The Show.
I never really liked the ads but I think they must’ve been successful. I’ve seen that “Kevin Butler” actor in so many sitcoms over the years and I think Sony fired him for breaking an exclusivity deal and working on a TV show.
-
Dude, it's a commercial and I thought this thread would be the best for it after you shared. That's it.
-
@dipset His contract was over. He was sued because he played a character in a Nintendo/Goodyear commercial and Sony thought people might confuse him with the Kevin Butler character.
Stupid, I know. Also, sorry for killing the thread so suddenly, but this is clearly the greatest videogame ad of all time.

Here's the greatest video game ad of all time for an actually good product:
-
@oscillator Strange. You said you were going to post the greatest ad of all time for an actually good product, but then you posted an Xbox ad.
-
@el-shmiablo but those Gears 1 and 2 ads were sick...for the time

Did I say best product ever?
Certainly good.

I'm a big fan of director Chris Cunningham who made the first commercial there. I think his overall body of work between ads and music videos, perfectly evokes the feeling of nostalgia I get towards the sci-fi dystopia chrome/metallic side of the "Y2K aesthetic" that was prominent around late-90s and early-aughts.
Some Y2K visuals were dark/dimly lit, twisted, and chromey looking like the Cunningham ad. Some of it was like this bubblegum future with clean lines, colourful plastics and chromes, and tight sci-fi looking clothing (think Space Channel 5). Throw in some Drum n Bass and I have pure nostalgia bliss.
I don't know what it is about those aesthetics but I just think it's so cool and creative and the visual weirdness yet thoughtfulness of the poster ads, tv spots, boxes, music videos, movies, and games of that time just evokes a reaction from me every single time.
The colours, lighting, and even the visual story in these ads are something that I aesthetically miss today:

@dipset If the PS9 isn't a glass sphere, I'm going to be so mad.

I know it's been over used and I know most have seen it already, but this advert is still among my favorites, along with others from the same decade
-
@sheria regardless of the memes that spread up because of this commercial, it’s definitely iconic, and actually a catchy tune.
I’d watch a full version if they had a couple verses, full music video style
