The Division - I must be one of the few that really really enjoyed just running around in the world, collecting stuff, talking to people and do cool missions. I would love more social bits and bigger missions!

What an underappreciated gem this game was! Some of my favorite/most satisfying shooting mechanics in a modern game. Engaging story and a satisfying ending.

Things I hope someone else nominates:
    Grandia
    No More Heroes

Adding Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars because no one else will! In my opinion, easily the best 3DS launch title, and as far as tactical RPGs go, second only to Fire Emblem. If you're a fan of the genre, you really should give it a shot, it has very clever mechanics, and some very challenging missions. It was directed by Julian Gollop, the father of X-COM. A game that deserved a lot more recognition and sales than it got!

(Someone please add the original Rayman, Far Cry 3 and Splinter Cell: Blacklist)

No More Heroes. Only played it for a short time, but it was fun

  • Not sure No More Heroes really counts as a Ubisoft game? They only published it in the US but that's it, as far as I know Ubisoft doesn't own this IP. No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise was published by Konami for example.

  • @Axel No More Heroes counts. Ubisoft did publish it so even though they did so once, it still falls under the criteria.

  • We're missing one more game here, I believe...

  • Its been well over a day, so I'll add the final one:

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
    Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
    Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
    Beyond Good & Evil
South Park: The Stick of Truth
    From Dust

    Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars
    Rainbow Six 3
    No More Heroes
    Rainbow Six: Vegas

I believe this to be the best crafted game in the Rainbow Six franchise. The setting is interesting and the mechanics are tight. Also, with Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, and Rayman having two entries apiece, I thought Rainbow Six should have two representatives as well.

Now: I'll give it a day for everyone to take a look at this list and if there is one that should go to be replaced, give a valid reason as to why with a game to take its place. Once accomplished, this list will be moved to a Kill Your Babies! thread.

  • Far Cry 3 deserves to be on the list. Don't know what to replace it with though.

Also... the best Assassin's Creed (2) should probably be there as well.

  • @Light the best Assassins Creed IS on there, it's Brotherhood ;)

  • @Alex840 Brotherhood is really good but it's pretty much a big expansion for Assassin's Creed II. The story and the variety of locations put ACII above Brotherhood for me. Brotherhood also introduced those awful optional objectives to missions. In ACII you could complete your assassinations in any way you wanted. In Brotherhood they force you to complete everything in an obnoxiously specific way that goes completely against the spirit of the series. You could ignore them but then you get a wonderful screen after each mission that shows how you FAILED to get 100% synchronization. Which feels fantastic, especially for someone with OCD like me. I will give Brotherhood credit for the amazing multiplayer though. They never managed to recapture the fire that was the multiplayer in Brotherhood. Even if smoke bombs were OP.

Also... the crossbow made things waaaaay too easy in Brotherhood.

  • I kinda want to second @Light with both games he's mentioning. But we only get to replace one?

I'd still say AC II <-> AC Brotherhood, and Far Cry 3 <-> Rainbow Six 3. RS3 doesn't even have any arguments behind it.

  • I agree with switching Rainbow Six 3 with a Far Cry game. I think Far Cry 4 is better though. Not as ground-breaking as 3, but it improved upon it in almost every way; much better story, more weapon variety, more dynamic outposts, more intricately designed world, etc.

  • Yes only one game will be replaced because doing it too much undermines the Kill Your Babies concept. As it stands right now, AC 2 switch for Brotherhood is the leading candidate in both votes for replacement AND quality of argument. There is ~20 hours left for others to make their voices heard, cast their votes, and make their arguments.

  • I would add a vote for Far Cry 3, I'm usually not a big shooter fan, nor an open-world fan, and to my own surprise I ended up loving Far Cry 3. The emergent gameplay situations, with wild animals showing up in the middle of a firefight, the flamethrower, the vehicles, the soundtrack, the crazy antagonists, the general vibe of the game made it all so FUN to play through.

I haven't played Far Cry 4 so can't say whether it's a better game or not, but it sounds like it's very similar to 3, which was the one that introduced this structure so I feel it should be the one recognised for it.

  • With it being over 24 hours, I'm calling the vote. Based off of argument weight in both categories of why X should be on and why Y should be off, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will be replaced with Assassin's Creed II. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this list. Here is the final form before it will inevitably be struck down:

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
    Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
    Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
    Beyond Good & Evil
